We are very sorry to hear that you were not compensated accurately for staying late. We value the dedication and commitment of our staff and provide a high-level of compensation for their time. Since the organization is employed by more than one school, you are bound to find a school close to you. The students are a definite plus.

Cons

There is a huge lack of communication within the company, twice I have contacted people within the company and after receiving no response for weeks, reached out to someone new who then informed me the former person had quit/been fired. Twice! The people in the office rarely get back to emails and calls in a timely manner which disrupts the schedule of the instructors who are actually in classrooms with the students. I was not trained properly before beginning my instructor position so I did not follow the proper procedure for an injury on site and it was a game of "that person should have trained you."

Thank you for your comments. As we were replacing some management staff due to resignations there were some delays in communication. We have implemented new systems, including a level of middle management staff to increase our efficiency in responding to inquires via phone and email. In regards to training we continuously aim to improve our offerings including a 40 hour paid professional development program, monthly round table meetings and biannual all staff training/orientations. Additionally, we have a training coach who is a resource to staff with questions about curriculum, student behavior and best practices.

I have been working for Apollo After School for more than 1 year (part time) -I like the environment of working as an after school educator for elementary school children. The team I work with is competent and pleasant. -Become CPR and first aid certified for free upon employment -Company provides Professional development -Supportive HR department -Dress code policy -Love working with children -Great curriculum -Company does summer camps so it's a great opportunity for a summer -Pay is good

None really. Most issues are solved on the spot.
