Pros
The work with clients is extremely rewarding. The company is constantly looking for ways to improve practice, it just takes some time for the improvements to show. The company involves every employee in strategic planning. This means they regularly ask for employee feedback and make agency wide strategic goals based on that feedback. The company cares about the clients and employees. They have been focusing on resiliency and have heavily invested (time and money) in teaching staff (and soon clients) skills to increase resiliency since the work can be so incredibly difficult and draining. I’ve worked at several different nonprofits and several different counties (in and out of CA) and so far Asporanet is the best and most professional work environment.
Cons
The technology is awful. My email freezes regularly and is extremely slow. My emails to outside agencies get sent to junk. My understanding is that they are working on it but again, change takes time.
