Atria is just a joke in general. They are a money hungry corporation that does not have a care in the world for their employees or residents. If you are a CNA, you make less for wiping butts than you do sitting on your butt at the reception desk. If you are looking for a place that is beyond disoriented, works you to death for crap pay, always works shorthanded, or gives you a "raise" that is just a slap in the face quite frankly, this is the place for you! "Management" is just unreal. They cant even manage to smile or say hello in a professional way whether it to be employees, residents, or family members. The Executive Director is unprofessional and ignores important matters of employees that have been brought to their attention. They have cameras which are great UNTIL something happens, you request the footage to be pulled as proof but they "are down". There is a lack of being able to grow with this company, the compensation is not worth it, there is no work/life balance, and the lack of culture and values is mind-blowing. I was an employee with two different Atria's for a little over 6 years. As a corporation, you would think that all Rules, Regulations, Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures would be the same (or at least close) for all locations. Management will look you in the eye without batting an eye while lying to your face. As an ASSISTED Living , you are not supposed to have a two or more person assist. Atria will take in patients that can't get the care they need because they want that check every month. The residents are basically charged to breathe! Employees get hurt because they bring in residents that should be in a nursing home with the proper equipment to take care of them fully. But they wont get hoyer lifts or gait belts for employees because "were not a nursing home", and now I have 4 minor disc herniations and then some. When incidents come up, Atria does the best they can to sweep things under the rug so to speak. In the six years I have worked there, and looking back at the experience, it makes me sick to my stomach and it blows my mind that they continue to get away with everything they do over and over again. I pray for the residents that are there, because they do not deserve to be in that prison and are not getting the care they need. I have caught CNA's taking Narcotis, a nurse that had a medication fall out of her pocket that should have been given, a malfunctioning elevator that got stuck repeatedly going up and down messing up the residents alignment, and having to bend over backwards for the family so Atria didn't get sued, an Executive Director sleeping with a CNA in the Model Room, and being mentally and physically abused by a resident even after MANY complaints! This is just the beginning really. I could seriously write a book on how wrong this place is on so many different levels. I have worked there short handed for 6 months straight without a day off, passing two floors of medications everyday alone, worked 120 hours in two weeks allocating MORE THAN HALF of the ENTIRE buildings overtime...and did I get a thank you for that?! NO! Just basically called out in a meeting saying there is no reason someone should have that much overtime with a dirty glance my way. It took everything in me not to get up and smack some sense into his ungrateful self! They should have been GRATEFUL to even have an employee that would do even HALF of what I did for that place. And once you have been there for a while, they mess with your schedule and try to make your life a living hell so you quit (rather than getting fired so you can collect unemployment) and so they can hire a new person for starting wages to save them money. This company had disrespected me in so many different ways, I cant wrap my head around it.
