Pros

One of the most exciting industries ever. We are involved in many great charity and cause programs in the community which balances the stress and high demand of sales. Compensation can be rewarding for veteran sales reps.

Cons

Major lack of leadership among sales team. Chosen few sales reps are coveted by management and taken care of with billing and compensation. Massive turnover is a problem.

Pros

Decent corporate training and resources. General Manager respects employees more than the toxic mid level supervisors Competitive pay and benefits

Cons

Never get holidays nor weekends off, using full time status as excuse to over work "select" employees. Supervisors this particular cluster, can be toxic, non inclusive, and unapproachable. HR is aware of many issues and lawsuits that stem from the cluster, but nothing changes. Turnover has been unreal, professional jumping ship on their accord, full of great training and potential.

Pros

Radio is still a great medium to capture potential customers for any business and the Entercom station I was at was one of the leaders in the market. In addition to having a strong core product management was always trying to stay relevant with the always changing landscape of today's digital and online advertising market. It was nice to see a company actually balance new digital products with its core product and truly care to reinvest in the training of its sales teams.

Cons

It was difficult to start from scratch and begin to develop and build a local book of business. Many of the companies you may have been interested in soliciting were already with the company or were working with one of your colleagues, with relegated you to the 2nd and beyond tier markets to go after. There was and is a healthy turnover rate for sales because of this.(In my opinion)
