      Wonderful People to Work With

      Pros

      The emphasis is on helping the employees do and be their best and not on profits. I have a great work/life balance and enjoy going into the office and interacting with my coworkers. I have stayed at this company for a long time, and they've really done right by me. The work is interesting and challenging.

      Cons

      Things can be chaotic. The work demands sometimes pile up. Decision making is often done by consensus rather than edict, and that makes it slow. There are still very few women working here. I think we just don't get as many women who apply for engineering jobs. (The tech comm department is 2/5 women, by contrast.)

      You are absolutely right that women are the minority at ASI. We noticed this too and we are working towards promoting ASI to more diverse groups of candidates. One way we are working to correct this problem is by contacting diverse STEM clubs at USU and other educational campuses to promote our internships and open positions.

      Great potential, poor execution

      Pros

      -Great benefits and PTO -Decent pay but I think has been outpaced by inflation -Exciting technology -Many talented and fun people to work with -Huge potential to disrupt many industries with amazing products -I do believe ASI is always trying to improve, even if I may not agree with everything I do believe they genuinely come from a good place and care about the employees.

      Cons

      -Constantly underestimating and not delivering. I think this is a problem that stems from customer pressure mostly but is also combined with not doing enough proper technical and business analysis up front to make sure the proper requirements are generated. - Work life balance is highly dependent on your role and team. Some people in middle management work insane hours and wear way too many hats. - The only reason that the office culture is hybrid is because the market is too competitive not to be and the building is not large enough for the recent growth. If the CEO had it his way we'd be in the office everyday and I would not be surprised if hybrid went away in the next year or two so keep that in mind. - I don't think this is any fault of the company or that there is any sort of discrimination going on, but if you aren't LDS you might feel a bit out of place as the majority of employees are.
