Pros

Work from home Excellent training Good benefits The product works

Cons

Pay plan - changes several times a year and for the past few years it has consistently decreased commissions Middle management is useless - most are unexperienced and were promoted because they were good sales people Alot of unnecessary busy work required Favortisim big time - unless you're willing to kiss up every chance you get, don't plan on moving up Aside from the initial sales training, the MANY required trainings are a complete waste of time and money Politics Good 'ol boys club If you have a client go out of business - kiss your paycheck goodbye for 3 months! Lots of unfair treatment - "favorites" get commissions adjusted for cancels, downgrades, and more. while the other 95% of employees just have to suck it up If you're considering working here and want it to be a long time career, you should make sure you're prepared to do alot of butt kissing and yes sirs.

Pros

Home Office, Pay and Benefits.

Cons

Tremendous lack of job security. Most reps work in fear everyday that their job could end at any moment. Human resources constantly monitors every move the sales force makes: from phone calls to keystrokes, the route driven, to the value of your conversations with your clients. Learn quickly how to CYA. Middle management is ineffective and typically unavailable bringing virtually no value to the sales team. Your direct manager will do anything to make themselves look good at the expense of his/her team members. If you enjoy tremendous stress, being monitored most all hours of your day, like spreadsheets, CRM systems, don't care about the company loyalty factor you will enjoy the job.

Pros

great benefits, supportive manager whom no longer works there either. If you are a male and a good politician, autotrader.com is the place for you.

Cons

glass ceiling for females. Good olde boys mentality. Lots of dating within the company. Has a shark type attitude towards the car dealers. One dealer told me that the only solution to a problem at or with autotrader is to sell the dealer something else.
