Pros

-Flexible work environment, -Casual business envirnoment with casual dress (jeans allowed), -Opportunity to utilize my experience and make recommendations to improve policy and process, -Retirement plan matches up to eight percent, -The culture and nature of our work is meaningful and fulfilling.

Cons

-No paid holidays (must use PTO), -Conservative amount of PTO earned (but can be used immediately) -Health insurance is provided but premiums are steep -Some leadership team members are working over-capacity and responsible for what could be two people's full-time jobs (which is consistent in small, nonprofit employers in health care). However, it contributes to burn-out and moderate turnover. -There is a little bit of "this is how we've always done things" that contributes to resistence to change at the leadership level.

Pros

PTO, 403b, working with the people-supported

Cons

Expected to be available 24/7, constantly covering shifts and doing med passes while also doing office work, staff and leadership are often covering high-behavior homes by themselves which is dangerous, director and upper leadership that are never around or willing to help. 60+ hour work weeks are normal, you may be expected to come in one day at 6 am and the next at midnight.

Pros

Flexible schedule, can come and go if needed, allowed occasionally to work from home, GREAT PTO.

Cons

You are expected to do more than what you’re paid for. No “days off” you work Monday through Friday 9-5p but it’s more of when you need to work, which can and does sometimes include weekends or nights or overnights.
