      Pros

      The people who work for Balfour Beatty are great. People really care about the work and about taking care of their team. The benefits seriously cannot be beat.

      Cons

      Corporate politics is ridiculous at Balfour Beatty. I worked at both the local and corporate level and cannot express how disappointed I was in how decisions are made and people are treated at the corporate level.

      Company is willing to provide you with the resources needed to succeed - funds, technology, parent-co. support. It is clearly focused on results. It has a solid emphasis on training. Company is very active in community development and relationship building. It provides a strong salary and benefits package. There are clear promotional opportunities for those putting in a strong effort with results. It does strongly encourage executives to get together and facilitates that with structure meetings and events for best-practices discussions and relationship building across the globe.

      Cons

      The executive leadership is a bit U.K. centric. However, Typical big-company slowness in decision-making. The company does have some challenges with cross-purposed competition among subsidiaries-business units, via acquisitions and placement of U.K. staff in all geographic enterprises.
