Pros

Product is pretty good if you only need it for an ATS, onboarding, and hiring. The transition from sales to implementation went smooth for clients which made the job easier. Co-workers were friendly and helpful.

Cons

- Being a robot and using the same lines for every sale. Lack of personality was welcomed, as long as you can memorize the script- you'll be fine. -Constant change in titles as a sales rep, if you sold more you'd move to a Sr. Account Exec. role, if you didn't meet those requirements you'd be demoted with a huge downgrade in pay until you worked your way back up. -Management would give more leads to seasoned sales reps, causing friction between other sales reps. -If you didn't hit quota one month, you'd be put on a plan and every day you would be told if you don't hit quota they were going to have to let you go. -When I asked to take well earned PTO, I was denied, however my manager would take PTO whenever they liked. - Payroll lacked job costing and labor distribution which deterred most of my clients away. -Lack of integrations with other basic payroll systems. -Leads from all over the country, so you could be taking a call at 3am.

Payroll Managers need review

Pros

BHR payroll is new and they are working diligently to improve their software for clients. Implemenation team complained enough that we finally got market increases so we aren't paid the bare minimum.

Cons

With the pay increases, the amount you received depended on your manager. Not everyone got the same percentage, and after researching this, it became clear that the raises weren't based on performance either. Instead, they were determined by the manager's perception of what their team deserved. This system is highly unfair because we don't have a say in who our managers are. The management team's policies are inconsistent, leaving most team members feeling like they are an afterthought. Taking vacations is challenging because you end up shouldering the workload of team members who are away. It would be straightforward to reassign clients away from Payroll Project Managers (PPMs) on leave, but instead, clients are handed over and added to another team member's workload to complete.

Pros

Inbound leads, good front line managers, remote.

Cons

Bamboo is known for paying its AEs poorly compared to other companies. They hire low skilled SDRs give them low pay as AEs due to lack of experience and if they stay they promote them to management. Its a revolving door of reps. Last year almost half of the sales team that had been here since 2022 left due to people quitting or getting PIPd. On average only 30% of the team meets their goals each month. Yet the company continues to perform well remaining debt free and having record breaking months. The only people benefiting from these accomplishments is upper management. Most reps barely make it by hitting quota every couple of months. Just enough to keep there jobs but not enough to make money. Upper management in sales has been at bamboo for the past decade. Most managers started as SDRs and worked their way up. Their lack of outside experience leads to bad decisions like setting unrealistic quotas and paying less compared to other companies. They also motivate people in terrible ways like having a demotion path for everyone. While all the employees in the company got a pay bump this year due to high inflation the sales org got told they have three months to hit their target otherwise theyd be demoted with a massive pay cut. Its better than getting fired but the problem is the high quota. Not reps lacking motivation or training. Bamboos sales team doesnt pay well and the high targets cause most reps to consistently miss their goals. They quickly replace reps because they hire low skilled SDRs and promote from within. Bamboo doesn't make an effort to keep the best reps the way the need to which is increasing compensation.
