Pros

People, culture, and progressive environment. It truly is a wonderful atmosphere, quite different from other small tech companies.

Cons

No transparency and lack of mobility. If you are in entry-level positions, do not expect a way out.

First off, thank you for being here! And thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We too agree that BambooHR is different and the atmosphere is second to none. The people and the culture are noteworthy because of the quality of Bambooligans who make it that way, so thank you for contributing to that. We actually have a lot of internal growth opportunities, and have created multiple resources to help communicate these to you. Specifically, our internal site, the Hiring Hub, was created to help you better understand what types of opportunities are out there and how to best prepare yourself to be qualified. Of course, in order to be considered, you do need to have been an employee for at least 9+ months and be performing well in your current role. We try to communicate this in the hiring process very comprehensively. We recognize that some managers may be better than others when it comes to growth conversations, so be sure to ask your manager about the Hiring Hub or Internal Job Board if there is anything that could use some additional explanation. And of course, never hesitate to come chat with a member of our recruiting team. Thanks again for your feedback! We’re definitely not perfect, but can assure you that we’ll do our best to communicate where these resources can be found and how to make the most of them. Our executive team has made the commitment to make BambooHR a great place to grow your career, and we'll continue to do all that we can to help support that. Thanks for being patient with us! Happy Bambooing!

Pros

They are very strict about only working 40 hours per week.

Cons

No commissions. They put sales sales staff on "weeklong" performance plans AKA you have ONE WEEK to improve or else they'll fire you. I'm looking for a new job ASAP in case I have a bad month this month.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We continually ask for open communication and feedback so we encourage you to be open internally with your manager as well. Performance development in sales and at BambooHR is actually different than described. Our employees have one on ones with their manager every week so they should always know how they're doing and where their performance is at. In sales, if someone is consistently not performing well, we will be open with them about what performance metrics need to be met and by which deadlines. We want our people to be successful and that is always our focus so we have a lot of resources to help in that effort. We have a different compensation structure than many other companies but consistently do market research to make sure that we're compensating our people fairly. Thanks again for sharing your feedback and we hope that you're able to have a great experience here.

A company about employees

Pros

Culture, culture, culture. The benefits are above average. Annual raises (if you perform well). The company has and continues to be all about its employees. The pay is fairly competitive but could be better. The culture & benefits outweigh that for most, including me. Bamboo is very financially stable, which creates a lot of trust within the organization. The product is beautiful. The dev team that creates it is gifted. It’s easy to sell and market a product you’re passionate about. And it’s easy to be passionate about it. The negative Glassdoor reviews I read are slightly comical. You can tell people are hurt because getting let go of a company that truly cares about its employees is, indeed, painful. If you get let go for underperforming, you had warnings. If it’s for harassment, you probably got away with it for far too long. I’ve witnessed it for years, and ultimately, Management is AWESOME at handling these types of scenarios.

Cons

There are some toxic people that they just won’t let go. Multiple complaints, multiple issues, difficult to get the work done, because of particular people. Not sure if Bamboo is scared of social media implications from this individual or what, but some individuals Can hurt the environment quite a bit. You ask anybody at BambooHR who the toxic team would be if there was one, and people instantly know.
