Cons

I started out on a contract with Bay Alarm through a temp agency, Worst decision ever made! Do not work here they let people go for stupid reasons and don't give you a chance to train an extra few days !

Pros

- They try to create an environment of team bonding even if it feels heavily forced and hokey. - Always have food at meetings. - Bay Alarm makes sense for commercial businesses. - Good training ground for installers and sales techs

Cons

Residential alarm sales at Bay Alarm is a loser. Unless you have a large territory (say over 250k households) you don't have a chance of making your numbers or a good income. You'll put in a lot of effort and time for a very small income. Forget about having Saturdays to yourself and family time around the holidays because you'll have appointments put on your schedule last minute. There is way too much competition from DIY solutions and people ok with just getting inexpensive cameras --- and things get more competitive every year. Bay Alarm is unwilling to acknowledge the numbers which say residential sales are dying for them. They'll just say you aren't working hard enough and say you need to do more door to door cold calling in communities (seriously?) and talk up the family owned business, local branches and all the benefits of great service. However, for 80% of the sales calls you'll go on that's a thin story given all the competitive options and the money Bay Alarm charges. Times have changed Bay Alarm and you may think you have changed with them but you haven't. You are stale and your screwy and complicated "automated home" offerings are far from best in class.
