Pros

If you want a job that works with autism and can develop a career to move to a better company, great place to start at.

Cons

This company does not train their employees properly, they do not file appropriately and they are more focussed on their image than they are on their clients.

Behavior Frontiers is committed to providing a significant amount of initial and on-going training to ensure that we provide a high-quality service to the clients whom we serve. New behavior instructors receive both classroom instruction, featuring video demonstrations, as well as hands-on, role-play activities covering the following topics: autism, the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), discrete trial teaching (DTT), naturalistic teaching strategies (NATS), data collection, behavior reduction techniques, ethical issues, and more. We also provide competency-based, field training, in which trainees have the opportunity to overlap with senior behavior instructors, while using ABA methods with clients, until they have demonstrated competency to work independently. The combination of both classroom and field training, which Behavior Frontiers utilizes, has been shown to be the most effective way to train!

Pros

Training is fine but that's it

Cons

Management sucks, they treat staff bad. Never listen to what is being said. Worse place to work for.

With regard to our managers and directors, as a former employee, you would be happy to know that we recently conducted an upward management survey and the managers and directors in our Palmdale region earned a 95% approval rating from their team members in areas such as employees feeling like their “opinions matter” and feeling “valued and respected” by their supervisors. They also earned high marks in areas such as employees feeling “comfortable voicing…concerns” to supervisors and that their supervisors created a “positive work environment.” Here is one of the comments that was recently given from a Palmdale behavior instructor: My case manager “always has shown me respect and always has good rapport with the families. That's what I like about this company. They are professional and they care about their employees.” Here is another review from that survey: My case manager “is always telling me where I can grow and compliments me on my strengths. She and I, I feel like we work together really well as a team. That keeps me motivated, knowing we are accomplishing a lot for the clients together as a strong unified team.” We wish you peace and happiness in your new endeavors!

Pros

Can't think of any, none really

Cons

Really look at the reviews from this company, and most of the good high rating ones are posted from Directors and Case Supervisors whom, of course, are high compensated employees and get the liberty to run this so called ABA company the way they seem fit. For the Behavior Instructors who are working the front line, we are treated poorly and paid crap. Scheduling is a nightmare. HR lacks professionalism Clinical team talks so badly about the company which in turn discourages the team not to continue our career path with this company.

Behavior Frontiers is constantly improving our company internally through various measures, but specifically, through our Quality Improvement Committee (QIC). Over the last year, the QIC sent out a survey to both clients and employees to identify areas where we could improve as a company. This committee is made up of clinical and administrative employees at all levels to ensure that we have input from across the company. With regard to scheduling, we have been holding weekly trainings for our schedulers so that they can continue to improve and serve our clients and employees better. Our very knowledgeable and professional HR department, which on boards many new employees each week, as well as supports our current employees, has recently expanded to include the addition of an HR Director to continue to improve this department. Although I am disappointed to hear that you believe that you are being “treated poorly,” I encourage you to bring-up specific examples to your supervisors or to the QIC, or considering joining the QIC, so that any concerns can be addressed in a constructive forum. As for pay, our Recruiting Manager constantly looks to keep our rates at all levels consistent with market rates to ensure that we are able to hire and retain great employees. In addition, we provide a significant amount of training and oversight to our staff to ensure that they are able to provide the best service possible to our clients. We have had many employees move-up from the “front lines” to management positions over the past 12 years. Their love for helping children, as well as mine (I also started out as a therapist and worked my way up, so I know what it is like), along with providing effective ABA treatment, is what motivates our employees to continue to learn and grow within our company. The opportunities to learn, grow, and move-up are there for all of our behavior instructors, who love helping clients with autism, who have excellent performance, and who have the motivation to get their graduate degree and/or BCBA ® certification!
