Pros

Employee discount, amazing humans (I made a lot of friends that I still talk to), personal relationships with Vendors (I got to know some incredible people at Sony, LG, Samsung, HP, Google + more), schedule flexibility, and generally good leadership.

Cons

Its retail... that speaks for itself. Sometimes long hours, Black Friday every year, Blackout dates where you can't take PTO, Rude customers, very pushy on getting Geek Squad Protection, Services, Best Buy credit cards, and Total Tech Support that took away from the sales experience from the employees AND from the customers perspective. Sometimes high pressure to perform and also sometimes unhealthy competition between coworkers trying to bump up their numbers (even though its not a commission sales job).

Pros

- Discount - Management at times would be incredible but one wrong transfer of someone can ruin an entire store's culture - Benefits are well explained and PTO is generous as a full timer - Coworkers were usually some of the best people I have met - Looks great on Resumes - If any life event was happening, managers were usually understanding

Cons

- If you move up you lose job security as the company has cut leadership roles each year - Part timers will get barely any PTO regardless of whether they work close to full time hours - As with every workplace, favoritism is very apparent. If you aren't all-in, don't expect to move up - Customers, while some were great, will demand a lot that you can't actually provide due to the company's shortcomings. - Management changes too much causing store culture to shift rapidly between positive and negative experiences. - Expected to push credit cards and plans regardless of what the customer actually needs - Work can be overwhelming due to small staffing problems and the company's expectations. (Geek Squad Agents are expected to know Apple and Samsung repairs without any increase in pay) - Often times when regular employees would have a high traffic hour, managers were typically in an office rather than helping - Higher ups are clueless as to how the stores actually function

Pros

Nice PTO and benefits friendly co workers and managers

Cons

Call centers dump calls not related to the work you do as they are paid based on number of calls they take so constantly dealing with escalated angry clients who have been constantly transferred around. not much room for advancement and leaders are let go constantly during reorgs. out-sourced all the pc remote repairs so only in store repairs are done by local agents now.
