Hard to Figure Out

Pros

They talk a good game. Sounds like a place you can make a difference. You go in with your hopes high. On paper and even the reviews, they sound perfect. Family friendly, good speeches and events. They have these tag lines they talk about and promote. There's a feeling that maybe they are different, that maybe bureaucracy is not as relevant here. That maybe the workers rather than the brown nosers can get ahead.

Cons

Then why do most of the great people leave? If it's so great, then why do you leave? Because all their talk is just talk. They promise 'no sacred cows', but there are few companies with more. You are not trained, you are deluged with work, everyone is trying to stay above water. Too much thrown in with not enough infrastructure. Too many new clients while losing your core knowledge base to attrition. Not listening or really showing consideration for the people in the trenches. When they are off the record, it's hard to find people that are really happy there. It would probably be a lot easier to swallow if they didn't get your hopes up with all their ideals. The same mistakes, the same bottlenecks, are repeated constantly.

Too many red flags and repeated mistakes

Pros

The "do-ers" are smart, talented people to work with.

Cons

The entire C-suite has turned over in the last year (in some cases twice), and nearly the entire sales org churned. There is no stability among leadership, no cohesive strategy, and a declining product-market fit due to years of stagnation. The new CEO seems to just like to listen to himself talk. He hasn't bothered to get to know employees or customers. He has already managed to fire the CMO just a few weeks into his tenure - right before SKO, and in the middle of (yet another) ICP rollout. I'm sure there is more to come. The ICP rollout was a disaster. It appears that no QA was done, and the result was a lot of very confused, brand-new sellers. The data quality in Salesforce is tragic (I know it's not great anywhere, but this is truly special). The icing on the cake is that enablement is basically non-existent. There is a huge tech stack, but no one knows how to use it. The targets are a joke, given the consistently below-industry-standard win rate. There isn't much hope for improvement because the product and time-to-value are significantly behind competitors. I'm certain the PE firm is deeply regretting their investment. Beyond that, you can expect constant shifts in focus, terrible benefits, quarterly layoffs, and a meeting-heavy culture that necessitates evening/weekend work.

Not worth it

Pros

Work from home, some good people

Cons

New management dreaming big with no real plan. Setting goals of being a company spoken in the same sentence as Saleforce but instead of focusing on growth and improvements everything is cost cutting, eliminations and shipping jobs overseas. Leadership says one thing and does another. Tons of legacy knowledge being lost, employees left behind are tasked with picking up the pieces and being overworked and not set up for success. Increases are minimal even for top performers, bonuses based on targets that are unachievable. After saying no more layoffs expected company eliminated numerous more roles with no preparation for handoffs or plan. Once a great company with focus on people, product and quality is sadly no more
