      Pros

      They're huge, so as long as you keep your mouth shut, don't expect to be treated like a human being instead of just another number, and do EXACTLY as you're told, you'll probably do well, or at least skate by.

      Cons

      Completely averse to actually applying any modern management techniques. They read the cliffs notes version of them and then try to make them fit their preexisting mold. Resulting in all the right words but none of the right actions.

      Terrible training process

      Pros

      The people there are nice enough and the pay is decent. They seem to be excited about the future of the company and the mission of the company is pretty cool.

      Cons

      From the first day of training, the other trainees were so inept it wasn't funny. They must have worked to get the least computer savvy people for a tech support position. The overall mindset was negative, and I was consistently reminded of how much the late shift sucks and how excited the other coworkers were to have someone to take the crappy shift. Almost everything we used during the training was broken, and the day went at a sluggish pace. Opportunities for advancement are few and far between, and the policies for advancement within the company are very rigid and arbitrary. HR didn't seem to care about my complaints and would have rather fired me than try to work with me or listen to me.

      Blackbaud has honestly been the biggest disappointment of my life.

      Pros

      The best part about working for Blackbaud was the potential for networking with incredible clients. I knew quite a few consultants who ended up getting offered full time positions at their dream jobs. This was by far the best reason to work here.

      Cons

      Nothing innovative has happened at Blackbaud in close to 20 years. The company's business model is: "If it's broken, find a company that does it right, buy them and then call it our own." This type of mentality has led to numerous layoffs and outsourcing over the years. THIS IS NOT OK. I knew people who worked at Blackbaud for 10-15 years who were thrown to the curb because of product overlap or because it was $5 per hour cheaper to outsource to a foreign firm. Buyer beware! Blackbaud will nickle and dime customers and employees into the grave. If I could do it all over again, I would not have wasted my time here.
