Good place to work but.....

Pros

Nice work environment. Interesting and challenging. Different people and different objects everyday. Ethical and moral place to work as far as auction houses go.

Cons

There is absolutely no room to grow or advance within the company. If you're happy staying in the position you're hired in then you'll be fine. If you want career advancement you'll have to go elsewhere.

Pros

The people who end up working here are mostly good hearted, down to earth and fun, and thats how they manage to keep most of their staff from jumping ship! If you just want to punch in 9-5, be a worker bee and do the minimal amount of work on a day to day basis, this is the place for you! A lot of flexibility to do other things other than work, maybe even a second job!

Cons

Low Wages, No interest in new ideas. Thinking out of the box seems to be discouraged. Inefficient business process's and systems that go down for days at a time. Bureaucracy out-weighs what is best for the company! It's an old boy's club, so don't expect that being good at your job or woking hard will get you a promotion or raise. It won't, and I'm not just referring to myself!

Pros

The best thing is less bureaucracy than the larger firms which is great if you know what you're doing and don't need direction.

Cons

The bad news is that working here is better for those with already substantial training and experience at a prior, arguably larger firm. Systematic training is lacking here.
