Pros

Excellent staff discounts. Absolutely wonderful staff who deserve far better treatment.

Cons

Long hours, difficulty getting any meal breaks, exploitative staff treatment and disgracefully low remuneration. If you are prepared to submissively do as your ordered you will probably be OK.

Pros

- Salary is decent but could be a lot higher - Good staff discount - Friendly and great dispensary team - gain a good amount of experience working with patients of all backgrounds and training provided by the company in services

Cons

- constant work load pressure with hardly any empathy or sympathy from management , with a huge amount of responsibility to take on multiple services - Feeling like you have to multi-task and self-check a lot due to lack of staff and constant long queues , which are prone to more errors and feels unsafe running the pharmacy - Manager always on your case to complete so much ridiculous unnecessary e-learning that isn't even that relevant to you. - Constantly having to ask for more support with another full-time pharmacist to be hired for a busier bigger store but having insufficient response back

Pros

- Employee discount - Some flexible working, mostly for people who have children - Mental health support via third party company paid for by Boots - Company may pay for qualifications

Cons

- Varies depending on your manager. Some very good and others very bad - Also varies depending on overall company plans - Increases in workload not always dealt with in good time, often staff who haven't been made redundant are overworked - Too much of an expectation to 'go the extra mile' - Lack of career progression, unless you want to be a manager. Particularly lacking if you're disabled - Open plan office is not amenable for everyone - Expected to train others a lot - More difficult for introverts who don't network - Not always flexible or understanding enough of people with disabilities, particularly invisible disabilities. HR approaches and ethos around this need updating. They also need to be more open to suggestions from disabled people rather than deciding what they need
