An Underwhelming Experience

Pros

1. Amazing Sales Enablement Team -- SMEs and well thought out internal training. 2. Young & fun coworkers

Cons

1. Middle Management did not always have their team's best interest at heart. It's to be expected, but you'll quickly realize which managers are good at their jobs and others who just luck their way into it. The amount of faked opportunities and back door deals to improve individual rep's stats should be looked into. 2. VERY Hard-hit customer or potential customer list. BrightEdge has been around for over a decade so their contacts that haven't bought the platform haven't bought it for a reason. Their tactic for new logos is to constantly blow up their contact's mobiles/emails to get them to see "new" parts of the platform and provide "updated" industry research. C'mon now. 3. Unprofessional. If I had to continue watching Kobe videos for the rest of my career I would go insane. If you're going for professional development you'll be hard pressed if your mentors are airheads that can only respond to a Teams once in a blue moon. 4. Harassment. If their HR department was even the slightest bit involved outside of payroll then they would be IN DEEP by the language used internally. Watching reps break into tears, managers & directors blow up on individuals, and what they say about contacts after a call is done.

Pros

Some nice people. $5 Health insurance (even though it sucks)

Cons

No career guidance or growth programs Most VPs (except Ran- he is great) don't care about you. They pick favorites and if you have one mess up or don't do it how they want (which they don't really tell you.. you get reprimanded for not doing what is in their head). They will talk about you to coworkers (at your same level). They only will like you if you get them things or kiss their butt. It is a dog eat dog world and there is no support or help from same level employees. They only care for their own growth. They preach about how they are one of the fastest growing companies... but why is Gartner saying different (cough cough the report last year .. they mentioned Conductor as best NOT BE). They dont care about anything going on it your life. Open to some people WFH but others not. HR is non-existent if you talk to them about a situation. All they do is talk to the person you were stating a situation about and then try to defend them. They will replace you with a smile their face if you make one mistake.

Outdated product & crazy micromanagers

Pros

Free junk food Nice coworkers Cool view

Cons

The micromanagement is unreal. And everything is a fire drill and last minute stressor that comes down on the AEs, CSM, and renewals people. Managers do not trust their employees and are constantly on their backs. The company things it is hot stuff and can charge clients hefty prices, but the second a client threatens to go elsewhere, they bend over and give the client whatever they want. Benefits suck, no 401k match and only 6 weeks of parental leave (compared with 4-6 months at most SaaS companies). No flexibility to work from home, only 15 days PTO (including sick time), unless you’ve been there 3 years then you get 20 days. WOOO! #not Seriously save yourself from the hell that is BrightEdge!!!
