Pros

My direct team members - we are lifelong friends and would have never met if not for BrightEdge.

Cons

BrightEdge is on a mission to self-destruct. If I had to narrow the plethora of reasons why, I would summarize it as stemming from 3 major issues: 1. In my opinion, I witnessed directly or indirectly explicit examples of the executive team acting in a way I perceived to be sexist, homophobic, fat phobic, racist, ageist, ableist, and unethical - often openly and in the spirit of 'joking' to other team members - so far as to make comments about committing self-harm for not performing well. If you in any way identify with an underrepresented group or love someone who does, be prepared to wrestle with your own personal code of ethics by working here 2. The lack of trust in managers and team members is rampant, resulting in extreme micromanagement over all aspects of business. If you in any way consider yourself to be a professional, competent, experienced adult who should be treated as such, be prepared to wrestle with your own sense of self-worth by working here 3. The lack of investment in its team members causes BrightEdge employees to continue to leave in droves. If you are not on board with working 12+ hour days, working evenings, weekends, and holidays, being seen as just a metric to be reported out, using outdated tools and resources to do your work, not getting any sort of recognition or rewards (financial and otherwise), and asking for several layers of approval before hoping to move forward on an item, be prepared to feel burnt out, unappreciated, and replaceable at a moment's notice by working here
