Don’t get me wrong, in a lot of ways this is not a hard job. BUT it is an emotionally exhausting job. Corporate does not give a single s**t about you or your wellbeing. They only care about the bottom line. When the high school kids went off to college and we lost half the deli, the only thing corporate had to say was that “your shrink is up.”

Management makes things worse, when they're doing anything at all. Upper level makes and enforces changes for no other reason than petty authority. Store and dept. level managers either don't care about issues or say it's "out of their hands." Hard work is only ever rewarded with more work, doing your coworker's job, and getting you requests either ignored or denied.
