Pros

Better pay than most part time gigs, can make difference in the life of students

Cons

Hours are extremely inconsistent. Hard to predict how much money will be coming in. No opportunity for growth. Center Director is too busy meeting sales goals to care about the employees.

Thank you for working to make a difference in the lives of the C2 students you teach. Please be sure to reach out to your Center Director and regional leadership team regarding your schedule and development plan. We are constantly working to provide more opportunities for teachers who want to grow and stay with C2. Have you heard of the new Teacher Development Initiative? This is where teachers have different ways to increase their pay, develop their skills, and become certified to teach new subjects. We will continue investing in more training and support tools so you and your collegues are able to take our students toward their dreams.

Upper Level Management Fails To Lead

Pros

Employees are paid on time.

Cons

C2 Education unfortunately has poorly trained senior level management, regional directors, and district managers. What I found working here is that these senior level management employees are training the life force of the company; center directors, assistant center directors, tutors, without any experience in the positions themselves. In addition many of the management team come from completely different industries such as Starbucks (including current CEO) where marketing strategies to obtain students have failed miserably. The most important employees, the center directors, are constantly harassed to sell without any emphasis on helping the families and students. Any business relies on sales but when management has little to no experience and can't lead by example then this will lead to poor employee satisfaction. District managers and regional directors in particular are not effective positions. These employees have little direction and are only great at sending motivational emails to employees to sell tutoring packages. Unfortunately since most of them have not actually conducted an enrollment conference, and can't review practice assessments correctly, this leads to poorly trained center directors and ultimately unsatisfied families. C2 can not be run like a Starbucks coffee chain. The review stars are low across the board because senior management needs to actually learn how to run a tutoring company. Hiring educators that have in the field experience will help in producing a competent work force.

Thank you for your feedback on the leadership team at C2. As a high-performing company experiencing tremendous growth, we are focused on building a team with strong management skills to support our continued success. Our new leadership team is also implementing new ways to bring the regional teams together and with more regular training programs and operational udpates. The team works hard for our families and we really appreciate all that you do every day!

Pros

I had some great co workers and supervisors. I felt like the general push was to be supportive and help workers grow.

Cons

There was a lot of demand for a part time job. It was expected of me to work 6 or 7 days a week and sadly because it was a part time position I need a second job which for me was substituting teaching and part of the reason I stuck with the substitute teaching was because the agency offered health benefits but I had to work a certain number of days a week to get them (and thanks to the folks in DC I am not required to have health benefits or face a fine). But it was very difficult when C2 was changing my schedule and location at the last minute (I was expected to work at 3 different centers as once again a part time employee). I eventually had to leave because I found a full time position somewhere else and the stress of working the two jobs and at several work locations was a bit much for my health.
