Pros

C2 does not discriminate in their hiring process. People (field workers) are passionate about student success.

Cons

There are no words to describe how C2 runs. Upper management tries to expand like it's a coffee chain. The focus is heavily on sales and very little on the students. Most of the directors/assistant directors are under paid for the work they do. At the interview, the interviewer hypes up the potential salary with included bonuses. They are not bonuses; it is a strict incentive pyramid that makes it difficult for new centers (non-core centers) to even touch. The people (for the most part) are nice and care about student improvement but mostly, the directors and district managers talk solely about money to each other often staring at their payment records page for more than half of the working day. Depending on the district manager, some directors could work under 36 hours and take away a bigger salary than one who might put in 45-60 hours with no overtime pay. The whole system is designed to get the most money from the value. Highly recommend AVOIDING this company.

We appreciate your feedback and agree that our people believe in their students and their potential for greatness. Management is fully committed to ensuring not only compliance with equal opportunity laws, but also a deeper commitment to the principle that diversity and inclusion will help us realize our greatest potential as a company and maximize the potential of all our employees. C2 centers nationwide provide a variety of comprehensive enrichment services for over 10,000 elementary, middle, and high school students each week. We understand that the challenges of working for a growing company can be difficult to navigate. In order for C2 to continue helping students realize their dreams, we must keep growth at the forefront of our business. However, we aim to focus on growth without sacrificing the quality of our product and satisfaction of our employees.

Pros

The pay is decent, and you get to teach kids who are mostly driven and committed to excelling. The hours are in the evening, and other tutors are generally pretty cool people. It makes a decent part-time job for people who want to work a few hours to make extra cash.

Cons

The company is entirely too focused on making money. The whole design is constructed to maximize profit, not benefit kids. When trial students, i.e.potential clients, come in for a session, you feel intense pressure to perform and convince them to buy a package. While the company promises individualized tutoring tailored to students, tutors are not paid for enough preparation time to deliver such service. We barely have enough time to plan the basics, much less pinpoint exact needs and plan curriculum to meet them. The schedule is inconsistent and no hours are guaranteed.

Thank you for this review. Its great to hear that you enjoyed working with the students and staff. When families partner with C2, they build a solid foundation of skills and study habits that will last a lifetime. Our students benefit from a comprehensive tutoring plan called “The C2 System” that provides diagnostic testing, personalized programs, exceptional instruction and continuous tracking. In order for our business to continue to grow and be able to help students realize their dreams, we must keep profit at the forefront of our business. However, we aim to focus on profit without sacrificing the quality of our products.

Pros

Seeing the students succeed at a variety of levels and building relationships with the students and their families. Continued training. High quality curriculum.

Cons

Requires aggressive sales tactics, often unreasonable monthly goals, uncaring upper management, all in center employees pushed to their breaking point. SUPER HIGH PRESSURE to meet the unrealistic goals and when you don't, you get written up. Expected to work on your day off if it falls in the last few days of the month. Pushed to call leads, some that are YEARS old, multiple times a month until you annoy them so much they request to no longer be contacted. Very high turnover of all center level employees. Very expensive program rates make it very difficult to enroll enough students each month to reach your goals. Incentive pay scale is crap and skewed towards larger centers, so smaller centers barely make a few hundred bucks if you manage to reach your goal. Need to run a center with at least 100 kids if you want to have a chance of making significant bonuses.
