Pros

The culture is truly created by the people. Very hardworking (albeit naive) individuals with a lot of passion and drive. I learned a lot about myself as an individual and who I wanted to be as a professional working for Carvana. It truly taught me the value of self-worth and how to #stayscrappy and go for what you think is it right. If you have a great resume and work history and expect that to do all the work for you to get ahead, this isn't the company for you. Internal opportunities are great though, you can move into positions you generally wouldn't be qualified for outside of the company. If you are wanting to try a new department, it's generally pretty easy to do so. Their attendance policy is insane and takes years of research (sarcasm) to figure out. With that though, it is very easy to navigate around and it's so hard to get fired for attendance issues.

Cons

-doesn't value previous experience -competitive but very much kept in the undercurrent -obviously company doesn't make great financial decision a la Carvana layoffs '22. -Their values are fantastic for character development but corporate culture does NOT live by the values for its employees. -Youth-centric company, I feel like they do that so they can take advantage of the naivety of their employees.

Pros

Free snacks, meet incredible people, covered parking, views of Tempe town lake. 4 weeks of severance pay

Cons

Poor company management. Today, I was informed out of nowhere that I was being let go. Due to poor choices made on behalf of the CEO and making promises they can’t keep for their customers. 5 hours before 2,500 of us were let go, the CEO bought another company for over 2 million dollars. I was an Underwriter and I had just graduated the 13-week training course. We had 1 more week of learning to take inbound calls and we never made it through the week. There was just no way for us to prepare for this lay off. Absolutely gutted to think I wanted to move up in a company like this. We were required to attend a zoom meeting so they can go over the CEO’s email we all got and to answer any questions we had, but you know what they did?…… there was no “live” meeting or room to ask questions because it was a recorded scripted zoom call that lasted about 2 minutes. Company definitely mishandled this situation and are close to filing bankruptcy soon. RUN AWAY FAST.

Pros

Company paid health insurance for employee only. Life insurance and modest 401 k match of 50% up to 6% of pay. Managers are understanding and don't micro manage. Freedom to run your Team and meetings the way you see fit. When in office, lots of free drinks and snacks. Very nice building and view.

Cons

Unqualified and uninformed management and above. No one knows what's going on with pretty much anything- RTO, Seating assignment, SOPs way out of date, HALO articles vague or ambiguous. Lots of self inflicted pain as far as poor customer experiences. Buying cars without the vehicle title, and then re-selling the car causing the customer to have to wait months/sometimes year + for registration to be complete. Way too much work to complete for TLs in a 9 hr day and salary isn't high enough to justify anything beyond that.
