Pros

CHG has an incredible culture and inclusivity presence. Having been here for 5 years, I've seen the good times and the bad times (ie. pandemic layoff), and I'll continue to ride the tide with this organization that truly cares about its employees. I really love this place!

Cons

My only regret is that I didn't start working with this company earlier in my career. I guess the one 'con' is that they don't allow me to bring my dog to work with me - but at least they allow me to work from home where I can stay all day with my dog. By the way, my dog is not a service animal; he's just a goofy, lazy dog.

We love goofy dogs! He still can't come to the office but we do hope he's a regular at our online meetings and events. Seriously, thank you so much for being part of our team. We've been through a LOT together and we'd like to think it only makes us stronger and more determined to take care of one another. Putting People First is more than our motto, it's the foundation of everything we do and every decision we make. Thank you for sharing our commitment to caring.

Out of touch Execs = Plummeting Culture

Pros

The work we do, the people we work with.

Cons

The culture has been on a steady decline over the years. In the last year and half the culture has plummeted and this is due to the orders being pushed down by Scott Beck and Leslie Snavely. The CEO Scott is very political and ever since the pandemic he has thrown his position around to satisfy his political views. The company recently imposed a $100 monthly surcharge for employees who haven’t gotten the Covid jab. Even if someone has natural immunity, religious or medical exemption, or their doctor doesn’t recommend it. They are charged. Even if you are pregnant and your OB advises against the vaccine for now, you are penalized by tbe surcharge. Additionally, if you don’t have the jab, you aren’t welcome in the office, company events in and out of the office. The goal is to shun. It’s obvious the recent decisions made by the executives are their own personal. Leslie Snavely is a ideological activist and imposes her political and personal views on the organization. She has no qualms about sharing these views via public social media platforms. Take a look yourself. She says Covid vaccines are not a personal choice but believes abortion is a personal choice… hmmmm. She doesn’t acknowledge that pregnant women in the organization are being bullied into a vaccine despite their doctors recommendations. She touts women’s equal pay and equality in the workplace, yet she is responsible for the policies that can potentially harm unborn babies of mothers in her company. She’s a mother…I would expect better from her. She expresses negative personal opinions about those who don’t agree with her politics. She has blinders on. She is a company executive and doesn’t have the wherewithal to censor herself and leaves her social media platforms public, unless she doesn’t care and that’s the point. It is obvious the recent decisions made by the executives are their own personal. Leslie and Scott are very political. It’s time for these two to go. Scott has been out of touch for years and he is condescending and loves talking about himself. Ever since becoming CEO, Scott only cares about climbing mountains in far away lands, being pictured or highlighted in some quack magazine as top CEO, while imposing discriminatory policies on his lower paid workforce. $100 monthly surcharge hurts your employees living paycheck to paycheck, not living in million $$ mountain homes in the least demographically diverse states in the country UT and ID. They are hurting the employees they don’t interact with because most of those employees are not in their pay grade and don’t live where they live. They may want to self-reflect on their own surrounding and make changes there before virtue signaling from 2500 miles away. The company is all about DEI but the whole executive team is white, not one minority. Maybe step outside your comfort zone and actually PUT PEOPLE FIRST instead of just your EGOS.

Thanks for taking time to share this review. We’re glad to hear that you like the people you work with and that your overall experience has been positive. CHG is a staffing company. But at its core, CHG is a people company. That’s we why focus on treating people the right way and encourage and celebrate diverse thoughts, experience, and opinions. Our executive leaders are people, too, and have their own opinions, beliefs, and political views. However, our recent decision to require employees to be vaccinated to work in the office or attend in-person events is not about politics. It’s about making the office safer, reducing the strain on health systems, and doing what we can to slow the spread of coronavirus in our communities. Though not everyone agrees with this policy, we hope they will see that the intention is to have a positive impact on the greatest number of people — both inside and outside our offices. Thanks again for sharing your feedback!

What a toxic mess

Pros

Offices are nice with amenities such as on site health clinics.

Cons

Irresponsible capitalism, constant focus on results, growth, and profit, and a lessening priority of putting people first has led CHG's core values to be a shell of what they were before. This has then allowed right wing values to move in and make a toxic culture. When the pandemic started, CHG was in a perfect spot to help support healthcare workers with more than just a few meals delivered. The company could have easily donated PPE or partner with client organizations to figure out innovative staffing solutions. Instead, we just continued on our way and hoped our nursing business would save us because so many nurses were quitting. Again, we were just waiting to profit off the problem instead of looking to solve it. As a healthcare supporting company, CHG could have also used its massive facilities as a testing/vaccination site. But CHG was too worried about getting "political" instead of treating it like a public health emergency. Yes, employees were allowed to work remotely, but that was mainly due to public pressure and not really a belief that it would be beneficial. It was always seen as a temporary option instead of full time solution. CHG leaders also had a chance to implement a vaccine mandate earlier this summer, but didn't want to make unvaccinated individuals "feel bad." The cowardice and catering to right win ideals backfired this week when a vaccine mandate was announced--which was only because the Biden Administration forced the company's hand. Company blog comments have turned into right wing misinformation threads like ones you would find on Facebook. And yet, no efforts have been made to provide a warning on comments or have them removed. The comments have become more brazen about unvaccinated employees standing their ground and taking actions into their own hands. These comments are alienating and unsafe. But CHG doesn't want to get rid of them as they are too afraid of the mob and aren't willing to stand up to them. However, this isn't just with COVID. Diversity and inclusion programs are watered down and have no purpose. . There are no goals to increase representation among certain groups. No goals to have more diverse leaders in senior levels of the company. Instead, conversation starters with your team are sent out so you discuss your favorite gay TV character. This lessens the chance marginalized employees feel safe and supported in their careers due to how there doesn't seem to a purpose or a plan to grow in the company. If you are looking for a career with a progressive, innovative, and supportive culture, this is not the place.

Thanks for taking the time to share this review. Like many companies, CHG was hit hard by the pandemic and business dropped off significantly. Thanks to the hard work and shared sacrifice of our people, we were able to save jobs in the short term and build for growth in the future. During these tough times, our Making a Difference Foundation was not only able to assist our own people who were impacted by the pandemic but health systems as well. Though we've (hopefully) made it through the toughest part of the pandemic, there are still hard things ahead of us. It wasn't easy an easy choice to require all employees to be vaccinated to work in our office or come to in-person events, but we feel it's the right thing to do to slow the spread of the virus and keep our people and communities safe. Some people disagree with this approach -- and that's okay. We're providing forums for employees to ask questions and share their concerns. But, ultimately, it's a personal choice and people can continue to work from home if they remain unvaccinated. Improving our DEI efforts is also a big undertaking but we're making great progress. We're fostering conversations to improve understanding and implementing programs and policies make CHG more diverse and fair for everyone. We're looking to share our plans for 2022 with all our people in the near future, so keep an eye out!
