Pros

Best reason was its location in San Francisco, however, now they are relocating the main office. Most of the IT dept. was relocated to Arizona.

Cons

Management sucks. The company, especially IT, spends an enormous amount of unnecessary money. The IT Dept. used to hire many contractors who would suck the money out of CSAA. Since the IT dept. relocated to Arizona, you only get hired or promoted if you are sleeping with someone in management. There are so many people married, dating or just sleeping together that it's shocking that no HR lawsuits have come to light. However, do you ever hear about AAA having lawsuits? No - because they do everything behind closed doors and somehow 'make it go away'. The entire Law department is a complete country of its own.

Pros

The quality of work, level of expertise, and respect from the few experienced employees that remain with CSAA.

Cons

Our founding fathers of CSAA would be ashamed to be associated with the company they built. The current executive leadership has proven to be incompetent, unreliable, untrustful, and heartless to the frontline employees. The recent layoffs are the most recent example. People getting ISP packages Fed-EX'd to their front door before being notified of their layoffs, over-the-phone termination calls based on a script, and ridiculous self serving articles on our employee website. These overpaid hired guns have no understanding of the concepts that built this once proud organization. They do "their thing" and make things worse with reckless decisions, then leave with financial packages to infiltrate other carriers. You can't even get our famous maps anymore. Get out while you can!

Pros

CSAA is a corporate pioneer in going "green". CSAA'a employee volunteer program is the among the best in the county. The claims training is great to ensure an A+ with the members. If you are looking for a job in the east bay area of northern california, CSAA's main office will be relocating to walnut creek.

Cons

Constant reorganization to fix poor decision making from the top. When the nation's economy is going bad, companies consider some department reorganization. When you're an CSAA in a bad economy and are forced comply with CA's insurance rate decrease, department reorganization across the entire company is a sure thing.
