Was once a great company

Pros

Comparable salary. Medical benefits were decent. I worked with a great team of people. We were always there for each other and came together when a job needed to get done.

Cons

Worked many overtime hours without overtime pay. The employee evaluation process was a joke! A person who you didn't work for, yet alone even know, wrote and approved your evaluation. The rating scale was absolutely ridiculous as well. I don't believe in inflated evaluations, but so many people who worked their tails off every day did not get the credit they so deserved. Pay raises were a joke as well. Now with the new evaluation system, pay raises are non existent to the average joe employee who needs them most. The new leave policy is absolutely ridiculous as well. Employees are no longer able to carry leave over from year to year. You have to use it during the year you accrued it. Vacation time is being forced on employees whether they want to take it or not.

Hopeless organization - Stay away

Pros

Cant think of any at present

Cons

- Company's focus is cost..cost..cost. No focus on revenue. In the last year there have been multiple reorgs, with 80% of directors/VPs gone. Benefits premiums on average increase exponentially every year. Leave plan revamped and limited carryover - If you are a "high earner" (defined by HR), you may lose your job one find day even if you are critical to your project or client. The mandate is to replace with a low cost (and possibly incompetent) resource - No revenue focus. No new projects, logos. The management focus is to just get the shareprice up and sell - No support to delivery organization. You are left on your own to manage clients and deliver - Due to multiple reorgs there is now a confusing reporting structure. If you do well, there is no one to praise or reward you. If you mess up, you'll find 10 different stakeholders jumping on you - No salary hikes this year for 90+ % of people. Lower management forced to put 40% of workforce under partial/does not meets expectations in performance review - The applications development organization is being run by two "Jokers" (i cannot find a better word) who come up with ideas every few weeks to cut cost. These have to be implemented or people ate fired or shouted at. - Professionalism, employee growth, benefits are all but dead in CSC

The great decline into nothing.

Pros

The people used to be great, but senior leadership has ensured that's no longer true. According to the new bell curve review system, which you can google and read about online, 40% of CSC employees do not fully meet their job expectations. Try selling to a client saying you can deliver excellence with CSC staff with that public knowledge out there.

Cons

A previously great company with excellent people now with senior management that care only to drive up stock price at every expense. Cut all the talent, and continue to "get fit" by RIF'ing the company into shambles. Absolutely no direction internally, restructure after restructure of the portfolios. There's nothing to sell, it's all just slideware and smoke and mirrors. The only financially viable part of this company is NPS and that's been known for years...
