Like being Micromanaged? This is the place for you!

Pros

Hard to say. The office is nice and in a good location. Dogs are allowed—kinda, sometimes, only if they are statues or stuffed animals that don’t breathe, eat or make noise. The people are what makes working here even remotely tolerable. Everyone feels the same level of pain.

Cons

Where to begin here. If you are a professional and value your self-worth as an employee, or human, do not even entertain the thought of working at iKeyless/Car Keys Express. It is as simple as, if you think you are capable of sending an email without review from management think again. Printing a flyer informing staff of something widespread like parking issues or staff meeting? You better get that reviewed and OK’d by the CEO—yes the CEO wastes his time on things like memos and flyers. Would you like to take Christmas Eve off and use one of your vacation days (if you have any because you wont get vacation until after a year) so that you can plan and make time for family? Think again. You will get docked two vacation days instead of one because the PTO policy states that you cannot use YOUR vacation days before or after a paid holiday without losing another on that paid holiday. Confused yet? Yeah us too. Management has started implementing quarterly action plans. Fine, but these meetings turn into such a deep dark rabbit hole because of the CEOs rude and inconsistent banter that they are a waste of time and a dig at all of the hard work you put into your position. You could have made the company money and he will wonder why your second block doesn’t have a period, isn’t written correctly and is a shade lighter than the rest. WHY???? The company also uses Basecamp in a way that has turned a perfectly good project management tool into a Big Brother so that you have to take time out of your day working for the company to note what all you did during the day. Forgot to post that you wrote a memo that now has to be reviewed before sending out? Do not worry! You will get called out in the weekly meetings held regarding BASECAMP. Yes people. Weekly meetings to talk about micromanagement and why the managers cannot get buy in. Well for starters humans do not do well with micromanagement. I could go on and on about the dysfunctional mess that is this company but you will never know until you are fully submerged into it. My suggestion-do not risk your happiness and sanity for the flashy offices and promise of promotion/pay increase. It is simply not worth it.

Pros

It used to be the $40k base salary.

Cons

Instead of innovating they are cutting salary AGAIN. Four days before Christmas 2017 the account managers' base pay was cut from $40k to $25k per year. What kind of corporate tool would do that to families during the holidays? He didn’t even have the guts to take any questions from the Account Managers after telling us about our pay cut. Don't think about unionizing they took off the company directory from our internal resources as soon as they cut our pay. The company brags about taking ex employees to court to enforce non-compete clause. Maybe if you created a positive and lucrative place to work people wouldn’t be leaving. Expect to work 10+ hours per day. If you're a prospective employee run the other way. They've cut the Account Managers pay twice in 2 years, but they have money to buy a race car. If you break down the pay you’re making between $10hr-$15hr. I'm in the process of leaving, I have friends who are waiting tables making more than me.

Pros

good hours and no weekends

Cons

It could be a good place to work but the CEO is just a jerk and jerk is a nice way to say it. He has crazy mood swings and his mood effects the whole place so you never know if you are gonna have a miserable day or have an OK day. Everyone is happier when he doesn't show up. He plays favorites and if he doesn't like you everybody knows it. He's a micromanager but doesn't even understand everything he tries to micromanage. It makes it hard for people to do there job. He makes promises about raises and bonuses and then says he never made the promise. He is making millions of dollars hand over fist and it all goes right in his pocket. We never see any benefit from the our work that makes him rich. Theres a new racecar just sitting in our lobby. He has a new Ferrari. That's just the beginning. His rules about PTO are stupid and different than any other job, like he docks you two days for PTO if you take a day off before or after a holiday so he makes you use a PTO day for the day of the holiday and a PTO day for the other day off. Then when people get upset about that he sent an email saying that's because our customers expect us to work every day of the year but then he doesn't show up. Lots and lots of people quit pretty soon after they start and its because of the horrible CEO. I need a job so I stay but I hate it because of him more than I like it.
