Pros

Diverse and supportive coworkers, incredible LGBTQ+ representation, unionized workforce

Cons

Management is actively hostile to employees and has increasingly been staffed through nepotism. Upon first arriving at Card Kingdom, I was warned by multiple seperate coworkers that I should not talk to certain supervisors as they had a history of sexual misconduct and were moved to my shift to alleviate HR complaints. I was also warned that certain managers had a history of instigating screaming matches with subordinates, and that upper management had open disdain for union workers. In my time there I personally saw multiple emplyees fired without notice for taking restroom breaks, which was deemed time theft by the employer. I was informed that employees had been fired for unexcused absences while they were actively hospitalized, and the only routine topics of conversation in the breakroom are new horror stories about management. More than one coworker, upon attempting to introduce myself, replied wih "turnover is so high here it would be a waste of my energy to learn your name." My PTO balance was repeatedly changed, used, or denied without warning or explanation as HR implemented sweeping changes to the company without briefing supervisors, so it was not uncommon to come in on a monday and find that I had lost 10 hours of my combined PTO/sick leave due to a policy being implemented over the weekend that I had never been informed of up until that moment. There is a great deal of repetitive strain injury that occurs as you are not provided adequate accomodations for safety or comfort, and all work is preformed under security cameras monitored by management which is routinely used to discipline employees for unexcused breaks, such as a 2 minute trip to the water fountain. Expectations and guidelines for work standards are not clear or readily available, so different supervisors will have wildly different expectations of you.

Pros

Most coworkers who are the same level as you are some of the kindest people i have ever met

Cons

No matter how much work you put in they will expect you to do more. Management will keep anything and everything from you while claiming they love being 100% transparent. Supervisors tend to be rude and extremely unprofessional. No work life balance, you aren't allowed to take any unpaid time off and no flexibility for the hours you work.

Pros

Easy tasks that don't require thought. Lots of fellow nerds

Cons

Mismanagement across the board, union busting tactics, micromanagement used as grounds for firing, clear instances of discrimination. The list goes on. Multiple coworkers had to quit due to mental and physical health conditions that HR refused to accommodate.
