Pros
The individual contributors are great, since you're all in the trenches together If you get a customer who wasn't lied to throughout the sales process, they can be lovely to work with.
Cons
- Owned by a VC firm whose only goal is to pump the company value and sell it. Want to improve a process, leading to internal efficiency and more value for the customers? Don't bother. Just keep your head down and do your job, they're not interested in improving anything. You will be discouraged from trying to fix anything. - Sales constantly lies to customers about what's possible, leading to major issues post sale. - Awful, awful C-Level leaders who are completely disconnected from the frontlines - It's obvious marching orders are coming from the VC leaders with zero regard for strategy or the well being of employees - Unless you set clear boundaries, it's expected that you work OT and during free time - Just look at the turnover. Anyone with marketable experience leaves after 12-18 months. Some sooner. - Heartless layoffs to longtime employees - The product simply isn't that good
