Pros

First, the co-CEOs really care about the culture. They provide 2 annual impact days off where you should do an activity that helps to improve the world. They also provide some rest days which are general days off to recover after busy periods. They’ve also done a great job of supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives and groups. Second, the product is awesome! It is incredibly effective and genuinely helps to improve business processes.

Cons

The sales culture is one of the worst, if not THE worst I’ve ever worked in. Celonis recently decided to verticalize after bringing on a new global sales leader from Oracle. The new leader then brought over all his middle-aged, white, male buddies from Oracle (so much for DI) and destroyed the sales culture. They micromanage and focus on activities that prevent you from calling on customers, while increasing their visibility into their reps’ every move. There is no longer any care for the well-being or happiness of their AEs. Verticals were formed prematurely so we don’t have the proper tools needed to sell and make money. More than half way through the first quarter we still don’t have assigned accounts, but you better believe we have quotas and are required to forecast deals that don’t exist. The morale is extremely low and everyone I know is looking for new positions. You DO NOT want to sell for this company.

Pros

Good product when it works

Cons

C's and other execs need to stop giving away free services. If it's a good product that customers want and value, then they should be more than willing to pay to get it. If the company didn't give away *millions* in free services each year then perhaps the company could pay more competitive salaries and avoid layoffs. Execs also can't make up their mind. Changes are made from the top down by people who have no understanding of reality, and those who do the work are given a week or so to 'make it happen', and once everyone scrambles to put in place the changes, execs realize it's not working and change again. Whatever changes are made can be counted upon to be changed again within 3-6 months. They are not forward thinking, nor is there a real roadmap. Management style is a dictatorship - trickles from the top down. What Alex or Basti say, goes. No reasoning or rationale. They only like robots who will carry out their demands. Anyone who is hired with a brain is forced out because anyone with a brain (think experience) can see that the requested changes won't work. No pushback is allowed. If Alex or Basti said it...just do it. If you want to drink the coolaid and just do what you're told, great company. If you are experienced and have been around in the corporate world for any length of time - find another place to work, unless again you're thirsty and just want coolaid.

Pros

We used to be great and unique which gave us the ability to markup our technology. Now, other companies are catching up and at a discount which will be a point of concern based on our growth targets and projections. Technology Pro: The core of our product is one of a kind. I used Celonis before joining the company to help me with my process improvement initiatives and it really was mesmerizing. If you really want to get your hands on the best process mining from a process insights perspective this is the tool you want. Culture Pro: If you are an individual contributor I can assure you that you will be working with people that are very collaborative and intelligent. Leadership Pro: Your first line will probably be a good manager (unless you're in sales) but they are dealing with so many things coming from the top that it is hard for them to build meaningful and trustworthy relationships with those under them.

Cons

Leadership: Con: There is a massive disconnect between the founders / top execs and the rest of the organization. Let me start with the founders. The company has fully outgrown them and they can't let go. They have to approve everything. And I mean everything. They brought in several leaders from Google, Accenture, Salesforce, etc and all of them left within 18 months. The CEOs haven't been able to transition from the startup mentality to what a 4000 people organization needs as leadership. If you are in what is now the Value Engineering organization, then it is far worse. They two SVPs grew within the company ranks from solution engineers to now this high executive roles so they don't have any real experience leading an organization this diverse. They also have no sense of trust to the leadership they hire under them. They treat everything as a fire and there are soooooo many meetings about status updates that people can't get much done. They micromanage every account and will reach out to consultants independently after status updates are provided by leadership to confirm if what has been shared is accurate. The sentiment is that the org is driven by fear rather than collaboration and innovation. Culture: Con: Honestly, it is the lack of culture. I've been here over 3 years and I've witnessed how a company that used to be fun and engaging is now only focusing on everything but people. If you leave, they will call you a traitor even after not providing any opportunities for growth or incentives to stay. And by the way, those who leave get promoted into better roles and usually end up at the competition… Technology: Con: The executive team really doesn't know what they are trying to do next. They invented a category with the hopes to create some hype but it only generates confusion. Companies are still trying to understand what process mining is and we do a very good job at making it very complicated. In addition, they are trying to operationalize the tool to make it worth its subscription base but let me tell you, companies are not buying into the value proposition of what this business apps are trying to solve. Most of the big use cases that we solve with our apps could be addressed with traditional analytical tools.
