Horrible company

Pros

None. Not even the pay.

Cons

Working at CSD was a horrible experience. During my time there, we were severely understaffed and did not receive hazardous pay despite having to deal with blood and feces regularly. And on top of that were assaulted numerous of times by the clients. The building was constantly held together with duct tape, and it often took months for repairs to be made. The higher-ups at CSD do not care about their clients or employees. They have a history of ghosting their employees or retaliating against them when issues are brought to their attention. This company is terrible and not worth the effort, even if you're trying to get your hours. They have a tendency to ghost you, and I've had to consider contacting the board due to their unprofessional behavior and breach of contract. Avoid CSD if you value your well-being and professional growth.

Pros

-Decent mileage reimbursement -Paid sick leave (because it's required by law) -The clients, but as someone who has been in the field for a while, amazing ND kiddos are not exclusive to CSD.

Cons

As far as this being a job one can survive on working, this is not it. You have to beg for clients to get cases, and clients don't want to stay with the company because CSD demands so much of them when they could just go elsewhere, show up to sessions and parent trainings, and go home. CSD expects these already overworked families (and clients who typically have multiple types of therapy) to confirm appointments DAILY and use their shoddy app. They treat all cancellations like everyone is skipping out rather than the overwhelming reality that the family is likely canceling for an excusable reason. I have never had a client cancel for a reason that wasn't legitimate. One the employee side, this company is ANYTHING but transparent. They've implemented several changes over the last 6 months and have claimed that every change was meant to make things easier for those of use who do direct sessions. They have nothing but decreased demands on us. There are 3 different platforms for scheduling. Scheduling seems lost ALL the time and I have had to give scheduling the same information repeatedly. The app they introduced doesn't seem to be helping anything at all and only creates more work on the client and BS end. If you're a BS, expect to jump through hoops to stay home sick. I can't get enough hours to get health insurance, and they expect a doctor's note?! LOL I DON'T HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GIVE ME ENOUGH HOURS. When I did work enough hours, I was told I had to wait 6 months. I also simply cannot overstate how entitled and arrogant this company comes off. The compliance trainer is the rudest person ever and will quite legitimately threaten you with suspension if you don't have something done a week in advance. Compliance also appears to have 0 ABA experience or experience with services covered by insurance because it's so obvious that they don't have a clue what insurance companies want in notes. Another change that "was supposed to make things easier." Add that this company added me to a Teams group and starred blowing up my phone at 8 AM when I didn't have a client and didn't need to be at work to get me to a meeting. That is straight up harassment. Also, part timers uses to get meager PTO, wellness holidays, and those were taken away, so they're willing to remove and erode any benefits that might keep you around. This business is greedy, out of touch, unempathetic, dishonest, and absolutely has NO place being in this field.
