Pros

I learned a lot at Kindred at Home. I learned not to be taken in by bonus trap money or a hurried, desperate on- boarding process. I chose this job at Sandy Springs because the offer came relatively quickly.

Cons

My money was easier to get when I was a kid , awaiting my allowance. Pay was never right.... always short. There were pays that were 300-400 dollars. I am Registered Nurse!!! QA sends your documents back at least 3x and then, the company takes away your mileage money if your final draft paperwork isnt sent in by monday! The "on-boarding" offered no real home health care training y the preceptor and the Director, with the support of her boss, is a vindictive person. The preceptor and director and some others are like a cult. They have worked together at other places and stick together and against anyone who doesn't fit in or speaks out. They play favorites and bully those that do stand up or speak out like one of the MCPs that does stand up for the field clinicians. The directors constant threats about abandonment and neglect, etc and her calls to the state against the nurses, makes it scary to work there. Sign on bonus must be paid back if and when you leave. And you will leave!!

Absolutely Pathetic!

Pros

Paycheck. Working with appreciative patients.

Cons

I have never worked for such a toxic office in my life. The MCPs and office staff are horrendous. Most of them are so miserable that they make it a personal goal to make others miserable. They are incredibly lazy, immature and disrespectful towards the field staff. They expect the field nurses to work beyond productivity and will hate you if you refuse. They also commit fraud by recerting patients over and over and admitting patients that don't qualify for HH.They are always looking to create drama and to terminate the next nurse for their own enjoyment. The MCPs also like to harass certain members of the office staff. It is absolutely pathetic how immature they are at their age and profession. If you are a nurse please save yourself by steering clear of this particular office.

Pros

Flexible schedule outside of the home. However you will spend hours making schedules and charting on patients you are case managing but have never even seen

Cons

All of their policies are governed by branch. So they change them constantly to fit their current need. Their charting system is possibly the worst I have ever encountered. It takes three times the amount of time it should to chart therefore making each patient require entirely too much time in charting. They now allow coders who have never been in the field or worked as nurses to do your corrections this makes them hard to understand what they are asking of you (because they don’t know what they are asking of you) as well as insulting. There is a complete overload of e-mails sent daily (most of which are truly hippa violations as they give specific information about patients you are not caring for to the entire branch). The overload of email causes you to miss the truly important ones and then they don’t understand why you didn’t see it. You get an email every time someone in the office goes to lunch or is in the field for something. It’s completely overwhelming and a nuisance. At first glance it seems like an amazing opportunity. Once you get knee deep into it you quickly realize it’s not. The case loads are entirely too large and you end up case managing far more patients than you can see and subsequently have to chart on patients you have never laid eyes on. You can have up to five different people providing corrections for one oasis document and even more providing corrections in general. Every member of QA expects tho bs to be done differently and there are always different people doing the corrections so expect hours of corrections weekly.
