Pros

some of my co-workers were wonerful, hard working, student focused individuals. assisitng student nursing through their training ans seeing them graduate was the highlight of my career

Cons

mgmnt only, repeat only, cared about bottom line.no raises for almost 2 years for anybody, despite upward enrollments. Yet can spend 65million for another for profit univ ( Walden) No O.T, told to shave hours from your schedule, bit we were so short staffed it was impossible, wou;d work 45-50 hrs a week , with a promise to "shave" time. JOKE...... and pay to start was. is , low for industry....... Not worth the worry...

Pros

Not many pros in this position besides potential work from home opportunities.

Cons

Where to begin? When I look back at my time as an admissions representative at Chamberlain it makes me frustrated and sad for all my coworkers that are still working for this money-hungry organization. Every day is micromanaged. If you are not cold calling or on the phone trying to persuade an uncomfortable nurse to join the school, you will be questioned. I was once questioned why I was in the "available status" on my phone for 13 minutes. Yes, 13 minutes I was not on the phone or cold calling. When you work from home, they micromanage you more because working from home is something that is earned. You are a machine that is micromanaged to an indescribable degree. You can actually feel the toxic energy in the building. The mangers are miserable and compete with each other constantly for students. Every call you have with a nurse is recorded and reviewed and taken apart piece by piece. The respect for the students is so minimal. They only care about the students starting and getting money. I have heard the most uncomfortable conversions in this career. Representatives are pushed to be persuasive to a point of manipulation. How about if a nurse doesn't want to earn their BSN we respect that decision and let them decide on their own time? This is a sales job that makes you compete with your coworkers and makes you feel like you are not trying enough when it is just luck. I feel ashamed of this job because it simply does not feel ethical. I hope for all my previous frustrated coworkers to move on and find somewhere that respects and trusts their employees.
