Pros

None, truly, not even for experience would I recommend working here in any capacity. It has ruined my mentality for what a non-profit is meant to stand for.

Cons

Nothing is ever communicated, until it needs to be done yesterday and management blames their lack of coordination on you. Pay is such a touchy subject, you get gaslit into why you don’t deserve higher pay even if you have the necessary skills, and more, and even do everything and more for tasks that aren’t on you to complete. No valuable recognition, only fake and empty words of “appreciation” Extremely high employee turnover, because people are quitting!!!! Under even a year of employment. The stress is high, pay is low, no initiatives for employee moral in any capacity Truly discouraging and disappointing experience, the company mission is so far removed from what is happening internally.

Pros

The immediate community of school staff and educators - everyone was supportive of each other. Everyone was kind to each other as well as the at-risk students.

Cons

Human resources, and other corporate offices were located in Phoenix. The communication from those offices was almost non-existent due to the constant 'changing of the guard' at the district level positions. Also, many school districts knew about, and planned for the Educational Funds being returned to the Feds. CPLC did not plan for it. What's more, I was led to believe that I would would move into a new position. I was told that i just needed to wait until the new Phoenix staff was settled. Instead, I was told, 3.5 weeks in to the school year, that I my last day would be in 12 days. According to the layoff letter, I should have had 60 days notice. Not only was I not given enough notice, I was not compensated for 60 days, nor did I receive my final 20+ hours of PTO. I sent emails to HR and was ghosted. No response what so ever.
