Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and are glad that you find you have flexibility, growth opportunities, and enjoy your team. We do want you to feel like you have good direction. Have you utilized the Build a Better Company Form found on the choicehealthathome.com website? It is a great way to voice concerns or present ideas that go straights to my desk. Choice was founded with in 2007 using three credit cards and my life savings. We had 5 employees to start in Tyler, TX. Choice now has over 1200 employees and operates in 4 states. To have that kind of growth I value greatly input in every market. Through the years we continue to learn and understand from every new territory and it has allowed us to be very successful. Feel free to use the form and we look forward hearing you and maybe changing your mind!

We are so sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues. The pandemic has been so difficult for everyone in the country and we believe specifically it has been hard on nurses in all settings. That being said we have focused on recruitment (hiring 1.3 staff per business day this year) and reducing turnover. We believe it has really payed off as our home health turnover rate is 13.42% YTD versus the national average of 22.18% reported in home healthcare news this year. One of the key positions in this initiative is the VP of the Choice Experience. This position is held by a registered nurse who has worked in both the field and the administrator/DOCS positions. He understands the difficulties of field nursing. Our avg nurse to visit per day ratio is lower than national averages so we believe you may be having some challenges at your location and we want to help. Please reach out to human resources at hr@choicetx.com and ask to speak with the VP of the Choice Experience. We want to help with your specific issue ASAP as it is not representative of the norm.

Pros

Autonomy and a decent salary for home health.

Cons

Disorganized. The company focuses on profit over patient care. 1-3 weeks in the delay of care for patients. Physical therapy delays of up to 3 weeks for patients needing care directly out of the hospital. Driving up to 8 hours a day to see patients, poor training, impossible to meet goals.

Thank you for the review. We appreciate any opportunity to improve. It appears you are at our Austin location Choice Austin Homecare. That agency location sees 99% of patients within 48 hours (the majority within 24 hours of the order). The national average is 95.7% and state average 96.1%. This is a publicly reported data point at Medicare.gov. Additionally that location spends 10% more on patient care that the national average. This is also a publicly reported data point at Medicare.gov. Across our businesses in multiple states we strive to see patients from a diversity of payors and provide a higher level of care despite cost. We want all opportunities to improve. The Hill Country region is very important to Choice and any incident of delayed care is a priority. We know in the Travis county specifically that therapy companies are struggling during the pandemic to fulfill their staffing obligations to all agencies (not just Choice). As that is the case we are moving to hire multiple in-house providers in those disciplines. We would welcome your direct input and encourage you to use the "build a better company" form available to employees on our website. Based on you review we will initiate a review of patient cases to ensure we maintain the numbers and results listed above.
