The blind leading the blind

Pros

Nice colleagues They give good swag when you start

Cons

It is a real drink the Kool-Aid environment. Leadership is incredibly young and not highly experienced. GTM is led by our CEO who is clueless about sales and on a mission to IPO. That means you must sell a product that doesn't work, and we never hit our roadmap deadlines. The worst part is they make you work like crazy to chase low priority leads that result in no revenue. They change their sales strategy every quarter and the team have an overall lack of faith in leadership to execute changes effectively. Stay away from MM and ENT team, they are performing horribly, and the platform can't support a true ENT account.

Pros

Good benefits, cool office, good perks (free parking, free gym membership)

Cons

Where do I begin with ClickUp? The sales org is a bunch of fraternity brothers who have clue what they are doing, quota is made up (literally) from the clueless CBO, it's a biased environment for white males (if you're a white dude you should be good) there are no POC, and the promotion path is a joke. Management is overstressed and overworked as are the AEs. The new CRO appears to be a nice guy but is setting completely unrealistic expectations for everyone and if you don't like it, too bad. There is "unlimited PTO" but if you take more than two days off you look like a leper. The work-life balance is horrendous, stupid internal syncs on literally nothing (i had 5-6 on my calendar WEEKLY), they are pushing PG so hard that there is no time for existing customers, everyone is drowning in work. don't apply here. It's a miserable place to be, and the CEO is too rich at this point to care.

Pure Chaos With Amazing People

Pros

Incredible talent at all levels of the company. Everyone is working super hard to make the company successful, which is pretty easy with a product as amazing as ClickUp.

Cons

It’s almost impossible to make any sense of leadership’s organizational design strategy, unless that strategy is hire brilliant people whenever they pop up, even if two or three people are already doing that job, and see who wins/stays long enough to outlast the others. Culture is big brother x1000. Expectation is that you work nights and weekends. If you don’t, the other 2 people doing your job, too, will and then you’ll have to leave. You will be hired over without explanation, probably multiple times, even if you’re doing a good job, probably because you didn’t know what your full roles and responsibilities were. You will have no clue how to prioritize your work and everything will be urgent. This list could go on for pages. There are just better more enjoyable places to work in summary.
