Pros

Good benefits, competitive pay, full-time remote work. I enjoy working with my immediate colleagues.

Cons

Senior management is very cliquey. With the recent reorganization it was disappointing to see that 99+% of the cuts were below the VP level and many employees have recognized it as well. I guess senior leadership felt that their positions are critical and self-reflection is not a virtue. Also, senior leaders made the decision who to eliminate from their ivory tower with ZERO input from managers, in some cases letting good performers go and keeping low performers. The reorg added workload to many, some significantly. Work life balance is not a priority although they claim it is and you can forget about diversity. Their answer was to ask managers to submit names of minority employees that should be considered for promotion. If you want promoted, you better do more than a good job and plan on acting like a toady with your manager and above.

Pros

what others have said, unbelievable 403B, pays for higher ed. there are some terrific educators working here

Cons

There is a lot of hurrying with little forethought as to where the ship is going. As a result, people are overworked, projects are underbaked, current employees' self esteem is in the toilet and the good people leave. The CEO is egomaniacal, lacks practical insight into the issues facing the American education system (data is not experience), and just generally seems to lack common sense. If you're a motivated, bright educator and really want to make a difference, either don't work here, or present yourself as an alternative to the current emperor.

Pros

100% remote since covid is the only pro lately

Cons

Though CEO is very vocal about racism and constantly raise his support/voice against racism outside organization, either he is not aware of what is happening within the org or letting it go the way it's been going for last several years. The racism is at it's peak in different forms: either it's for promotion, bonuses, or even in a casual meetings. People who have a habit of pulling other's legs are being rewarded, people who speak a lot and do the minimum work are being rewarded. If you have a skill of praising your manager( there are some exceptional managers who are very good and unbiased but I doubt they will stay there for long term) then probably you're still fine. I still think CEO, President, CTO are the people who cares about employee but I doubt they get the real picture of the people who work very hard. I suggest CEO, President, CTO to get the direct anonymous feedback from those people who work hard on day to day basis and take an immediate action based on the feedbacks received for the betterment of the organization
