Pros

My love for the residents are the first thing that comes to mind and Commonwealth focuses on the residents and how they must come first in order to have a successful community. Also the staff I feel is very well taken care of. A lot of incentives.

Cons

A lot of changes and I feel like some times I 'm the las t one to know about them. When the Nursing consultants come, and I have no problems with them doing the audits, but they ask me for forms that need to be on the charts, and I don['t know what they are talking about.

Pros

The company was great about 5 years ago. They followed their own core values. In the last two years, the support has really dropped off and you are given approval for things, then held accountable because you did them. WHAT?!

Cons

Today’s workforce is completely different. After being in management for 16yr, the new generation is running the business, not the managers. This is what we are letting happen. After being given permission to hold associates accountable for their actions or lack thereof, I was told that the staffing crisis in our community was my fault. These associates actions were in clear violation of the handbook, however… now I am being held accountable for the follow through (again, which was approved). No support is constantly unavailable, “on a call”. Who in the world can you be on the phone with 12hr a day… no one from your region because we all talk. Always the same response when you call, text or email. “On a call, we will connect later.” Regardless if its a 911 situation or not, no answer. “Later” could mean 3hr or never, had that happen too. This company expects things from YOU as a community leader that they aren’t willing to DO/GIVE themselves, like following their own core values. Supporting your community team. Answering your phone. Leading by example. Helping your staff grow. Let’s just stop right here a second, when your most tenured executive directors have all left and you have an entirely new group in the past two years… since SOMEONE was hired on in… you should stop and pulse check. They’re getting rid of the “old ED’s” who hold them to their core values and push back when THEY don’t follow them. They’ve hired on a whole new group that they can push around, because those new people don’t expect as much. Commonwealth, we have seen what you CAN be (in years past). It’s a shame you let us down like this. I would be ashamed. Guess now we see why a lot of the upper management left, they saw it coming. CSL has lost a lot of good people who were so committed to their brand. Word of advice - Keep your grass cut short so you can see the snakes.
