Pros

I can find many pros for working at Commonwealth. They seem to really care about the residents most all the time. The common goal is to provide the best care for the residents. Our rooms at Christiansburg are very roomy. The care staff are very attentive and seem to really care about the residents. Upper management is Ok.

Cons

The food is the biggest problem at our facility as well as the heat/cooling.

We at Commonwealth Assisted Living appreciate you speaking up about the challenges with the dining program at your community. We understand that as we work to make major changes/improvements within the company that it doesn't happen overnight. Recently we brought in a VP of Dining Services and a Regional Director of Dining Services to revamp the entire program. It is our expectation that you will start to see the changes very soon. I also appreciate your honest about upper management. If you are comfortable, I encourage you to share you thoughts/insights with your Executive Director or your Regional Director of Operations. You are also welcome to reach out to me at hr@commonwealthal.com. Thank you for speaking up!

We at Commonwealth Assisted Living appreciate you speaking up about the staffing challenges at your community. We understand that as we work to make major changes/improvements within the company that it doesn't happen overnight. Recently we have begun to implement systems that should allow us to better determine appropriate staffing needs so that you don't feel we're short-staffed. At some communities, we learned leaders were only hiring PT staff and it was due to an old philosophy. We have since changed that expectation and communicated to all leaders they can hire FT employees. If you are comfortable, I encourage you to share you thoughts/insights with your Executive Director or your Regional Director of Operations. You are also welcome to reach out to me at hr@commonwealthal.com.
