Pros

Company is hitting all the buzzwords to try and raise a nice valuation. General Catalyst needs this thing to come through in some fashion (you can do search for the business insider article about commure). So the odds of a sale or IPO is excellent. This means that the RSU/ISO will have some sort of payout. How much makes it from the preferred stock holders to the common stock is the big question.

Cons

The executive team and there various nepotism hires will lie about anything to anyone. (The CEO, CTO, COO and CBO (chief business officer, cause all the buddies need a "chief")) all have direct siblings/wives on the payroll. Offer letters are going out with a fantasy stock price "Just say yes" is a direct order from the CEO to any customer request, query or concern. Does the request even make sense? Doesn't matter, just say yes and work overtime to stand up the house of cards to resolve the issue long enough to convince the customer There is no organization. Everyone just does whatever they want, as they think best. It's a 1,000 person company that functions like a 10 person. This leads to the most obvious tragedy of the commons possible with regards to resources. The company keeps doing M and A activity, but it isn't real. It's just other general catalyst portfolio companies. This to show a single company with the revenue of many

Pros

I swear, there are zero pros in this company. None. It’s honestly impressive how an entire leadership team can burn through millions on projects that have absolutely no purpose. They throw money around like confetti while pretending it’s “strategic.” Meanwhile, the people actually doing the work are left dealing with the fallout of their clueless decisions.

Cons

Management? Don’t even get me started. Half the time they don’t know what’s happening inside their own teams. The other half, they’re scrambling to “fix” problems they created in the first place. And somehow, despite all this chaos, they still manage to look down on anyone working within Scribe like we’re the bottom of the barrel. Funny, considering we’re the ones actually producing results. And the remote managers? Absolute joke. A complete disgrace to sales. They hop on Zoom once a week, mumble something about KPIs, and vanish for the rest of the day. But they’ll be the first to talk down to reps or micromanage something pointless just to feel important. What really takes the cake? They hate when reps make more money than they do. It drives them insane. Instead of celebrating top performers, they try to rein them in, slow them down, or sabotage comp structures because it bruises their egos. Imagine being that petty and insecure.

Pros

A few talented individuals who genuinely care about the work. Exposure to a fast-paced environment (if you’re early in your career and want to learn under pressure).

Cons

When I joined, I was told this was an “engineering-forward” company with a great culture and learning opportunities. But the reality was very different. This company has an extremely toxic work culture. You’re expected to work nonstop, late nights, on weekends, whatever it takes. “Speed above all” is their moto and quality takes a backseat which is especially concerning for a healthcare product. Saying “no” isn’t an option, even when it’s unreasonable. Mistakes are called out publicly and favoritism is rampant. Only the yes-mean or those who are liked personally get promoted, while the rest are constantly sidelined. Management is mostly very young and directionless, priorities change overnight, and you’re often told to drop what you’re doing to chase something new. The constant pressure, chaos, and lack of boundaries took a huge toll on my mental health. It’s a place that rewards burnout and ignores balance. It leaves you completely drained.
