Pros

Great Product, CEO and the new VP of Americas Sales

Cons

Commvault is struggling to reinvent itself, it's difficult to compete with the newer DP products. Poor corporate and field marketing with limited budget and resources. 3 layoffs/restructurings in 2019, 2 in 2018 and 1 in 2017, 3 VP of Americas Sales in 9 months, morale is low, hard to backfill positions (compensation is below industry standard) and good knowledgable people leaving. Not enough field sales (less than half of what we had in 2016), partner managers or alliance resources. 1 to 5 ratio of sales engineer to account manager is too thin for new logo acquisition, territory expansion and existing customer management. Partner strategy is unsuccesful due to execution of a substandard plan and lack of resources. Alliance strategy is non-existent and the team is understaffed and cannot get the attention they need from HPE, NetApp, HDS or Cisco. This leads to continually missing in Q1, Q2 and I expect in Q3 as well.

Thanks for your feedback. In many ways, 2019 was a transitional year for us, but I believe that Commvault is making all the right moves – particularly around our field and partner enablement and execution. And, our past two quarters demonstrate that. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to reach out to me directly. Riccardo Di Blasio – Chief Revenue Officer

Pros

Great product with a lot of industry validation. Solid product training and resources

Cons

Company has experienced significant employee churn year over year and it is hard to find any sales people who have been with the company for more than 2 years. Over 80% of account managers do not make their quota. New employees need time to ramp into territories.

Pros

the only thing that I liked here is how entertaining it was to watch these idiots try to run a support team

Cons

Hard work is not appreciated here unless you are friends with supervisor and/or management. In fact, those "engineers" who barely know how to support the product go onto to being promoted to what is called the SET team who are supposed to be the team responsible for training the entire floor. Often they would have to piggy back off the work off better engineers who were not recognized because they didn't play office politics. Oh and to Commvault customers.... service level agreements are ARTIFICIALLY met as engineers are pressured to hit the SLA Support button way before they are actually ready to call the customer. Management only cares that we hit our numbers on PAPER, not if the customer actually gets a call within the SLA they pay for. PATHETIC. Now they are replacing batches of American support at a time over to India support and so far the customers hate it. Support is basically a sweatshop, we are encouraged to not take lunch and made to feel bad if we do. The support Managers are 100% useless and provide no real value. They make bonuses on the backs of their teams in which they contribute nothing to, other than once in a while when the ask “hey can someone take that ticket” and that’s only when a team Supervisor is OOO, otherwise they contribute nothing. Literally burnt money. If they dont like u, they will target you for any mistake you make in a ticket while others who are buddy buddy with management can make much worse mistakes and no problem. It's just a totally toxic work atmosphere run by a bunch of dumb cowboys.
