Pros

- Great technical staff. - Pays well with good benefits. - Strong support to the military.

Cons

- Senior Management are lightweights. Have been on the job since the lights were turned on 20 years ago and haven't done much since then. Cannot not survive in a competitive environment, so just stay in-place. - No job security for technical or middle management. Contract to contract work. Not for the "faint of heart" or anyone with financial worries. It's the nature of the business, but the company practices make it worse than it should be. - Heavy internal bureaucracy, almost impossible to navigate through levels of ever changing "checks and balances". There are layers of management who's apparent sole purpose is to say "no", such as a "Compliance Officer". - Constant re-organization. - The "Old Boy Network" is alive and well at CTC. Promotions are 90% based on relationships and 10% based on merit. - Bonus system is 100% based on relationships. - Company is much more interested in it's "Public Appearance" than actual support to clients. - Employees are expected to work the normal 40 hours, plus give a lot (and I mean a LOT) of "Professional Development Time". - Board of Directors almost all local Johnstown people; are easily manipulated by the Senior Executives (C-Staff). Since the BOD will not hold the C-Staff accountable, primarily because they don't know the company is sinking, life goes on with the same Senior Executives in-place. The only losers out of this situation are the regular employees and the clients.

Pros

Good retirement benefits (once you are vested); Low cost of living; Good technical staff to perform work when available; Can work from home on a limited basis.

Cons

Wow where to begin. No to very limited flexibility. Stuck in old technologies and methods, there are a few bright spots but very few. No sick leave! Very weak mangement line, if you can call it management. Concerned with 'image' rather than employees or performance. Good at 'pass through' contracts to keep management employed. Would rather cut employees than promote. Promotions are few and far inbetween. Management insists 'everything is fine' but will not talk about problems or if employees are let go. No appreciation for technical employees, they are replaceable. Overhead rates are through the roof, too much waste in ridiculous departments. No matter what the issue HR is always right. There are a few great managers and employees, too bad the rest of the company cannot learn from them.
