      Expectations vs. Reality

      Pros

      Has a large break room with a TV. Most of the people are nice.

      Cons

      Company makes you treat customers like a number. Long hold times for customers, they would complain, and only explanation we could give them was some bloated excuse. We were required to have so many calls in a day, which meant we had to try to fix their problem quickly and then rush them off the phone whether we could or could not resolve their issue.

      Pros

      Free from the worry of metrics. Majority of supervisors are approachable. Shifts aren't too bad. If you don't have previous leadership experience this role would be good to put on your resume..

      Cons

      Pay isn't commensurate with responsibilities. You are required to know Billing, Sales, Service, Porting, and Troubleshooting. You can get paid more to be on the phone with OT Very few of the other TSS's are happy. I was trying to ask a TSS a question and an agent told me that some TSS's won't answer you if they aren't clocked in. One TSS absolutely hates it. I was yelled from one TSS. Controlling, robot-like, environment. You have to be a certain type of person with a certain type of mentality to acclimate to the culture. If you get in with the right people, you'll do fine.
