Thank you for your 5 star review and incredible feedback. We strive to achieve work-life balance and a strong corporate culture to support exactly that. Our Senior Staff works very hard to stand behind both our core values (Integrity/Honesty/Respect/Loyalty/Never Satisfied) and purpose statement (To Provide a Better Place for People to Work). Thank you for taking the time to post your review!

Working at Cornerstone Systems

Pros

Cornerstone is a great company to work for. They do a fantastic job helping their employees work through life's challenges as it is very much a family oriented company. Cornerstone being an ESOP is a great plus. It is incredibly generous and can go a long way in giving an employee long-term financial security. This creates a now part-owner of the company and I believe this instills in everyone a sense of ownership of their work that results in greater results. This industry is not always 8-5, but they do their best to create a good work/life balance. With that being said, people take that ownership to heart and make sure that the job gets done. Recent years of growth have afforded new opportunities to many current and new employees in the last few years. An emphasis on the core values: Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, Respect, and Never Satisfied is also a great pro.

Cons

There are very few cons to working at Cornerstone.

Pros

I am grateful to work for a company like Cornerstone. There are many great qualities, but what I have enjoyed most, is this the first company I have come across that truly values a work-life balance, and promotes supporting their employee's through personal and professional struggles and successes. It is a comforting feeling coming into a place where people genuinely care for each other, and that even includes the senior staff. The senior staff has an open door policy, which you don't see much anymore at larger organizations, and they make it a point to know each employee by name, not a number. It's very welcoming having the president of your company address you by name. Cornerstone being an ESOP is also a great plus. Not only does it make me a part owner, which in turn makes me work that much harder, it also provides an opportunity for long term financial stability that my family wouldn't have had otherwise. I also enjoy watching the office come together during the holidays to support local charities, and have a little fun along the way with Halloween costume contest and Ugly Christmas Sweater parties. It's their way of breaking of the monotony of a busy work day. Cornerstone has worked hard to create a fun, family-oriented culture and I think that's why there are so many employees who never want to leave!

Cons

When I talk about my job, or my company, to my friends, I never speak of the con's. That is because there are very few to speak of. The pro's far and above outweigh the con's, but that's not to say there aren't some. I like that cornerstone displays their purpose statement and core values on the desks of their employees, but it doesn't seem like every employee is held to those standards in the core values. The only other con I would reference would be looking into having performance-based, or merit-based, either individual, team, department, or company-wide bonus plan. Being an ESOP is nice, and will help provide for the future, but it doesn't always help me and my family presently and having something to work towards in the near future could push everyone to work even harder.
