      Pros

      Fast growing company with opportunity to move up to better positions within a few years, if you last that long

      Cons

      High turn over rate! The Corporate does not care for their lowest employees well being and treatment, they are only concerned if it affects their paycheck. HR does a great job of pretending to help, until they can find a way to fire you or get you to quit with unacceptable working conditions

      Yikes – not a fun review to receive! That said, we really appreciate your honesty and always take criticisms such as these seriously. We agree that turnover is higher than we’d like, but we can assure you that we do care about the well-being of all of our associates from top to bottom. Our Talent Resources team does facilitate terminations, but they are carried out under the directive of and in collaboration with team managers, and we are always looking out for the best interests of the company and our associates.       Pros

      Innovative thinking is truly the culture at Cortland Partners. I haven’t had to deal with a micro-manager, am simply given a directive, and enjoy the freedom to analyze the problem, develop a solution, and devise an implementation. Usually, in a fast pace environment, companies operate out of habit and do not examine the conditions causing a problem. Cortland strives to explore and find the best possible process/system for the immediate and long term. Outside the box is the norm here.

      Cons

      Sometimes, you get so involved in fixing what’s broke, you lose work/life balance. That however is the result of loving what I do, and not encouraged by management.

      "What Box" is correct! One of Cortland's mottos is to always question the status quo. We are happy to hear that you are able to take ownership in your day to day responsibilities. We like that entrepreneurial spirit! As part of Cortland's work/life blend, we sometimes get caught up in our own projects, but we believe that is a sign of loving what you do!

      Great Forward Thinking Company - Never Been Happier

      Pros

      I have been looking for a company like this for years. I have worked for several great companies in the past but Cortland looks at things differently. They don't follow the standard "Well this is how my old company did it" or "This is how we do it in the Apartment Industry". They strive to incorporate new and exciting ideas by often looking outside of our industry for inspiration. They believe in compensating well for working hard and treat their employees as valued assets. I took a HUGE leap of faith when I came to Cortland 6 months ago and it was the best career decision that I have ever made!

      Cons

      Cortland is a relatively new company that has grown very quickly and that can cause growing pains but that can also be looked at as a Pro. Constantly evolving and changing is not a bad thing but many are reluctant to change. If you can roll with the flow and are willing to work hard... Cortland is the place for you!
