Pros
It's a job. You can take home $1000 in a week. You can do 6000 miles in a week Minimum wage, but with very strong caveats.
Cons
Inconsistent miles. Dishonest pay rates (They tell you 52 cents a mile, but pay you 48 cents if you take the per diem, meaning Uncle Sam subsidizes you and you lose 4 cents every mile) One of the worst trucking companies in the US for being pulled in for inspections. They have a score of 98/100, but they don't tell you that. THEN they fine you $50 from your wages for a bad inspection. Very paranoid about their employees. Very poor support from admin, etc. Not great equipment. Old school, militaristic training and punishment. They claim to be Christian, but not generous, not honest, not trustworthy. If you have an accident and someone is injured or killed, you must call them first, so they will contact relatives rather than them contacting attorneys. No driver should be expected to do this on behalf of a company. It's shameful.
