it's just a job...

Pros

great co-workers, fast paced, rewarding in a sense.

Cons

management is unprofessional, family life:work ratio sucks, work weekends, micro-management of employees with seniority, too much "training" that doesn't train on anything helpful or new; drivers are allowed to treat fleet managers like crap without ANY discipline.

Pros

They accept new CDL students with no experience.

Cons

There is NO work/life balance! 1 day off after you work 6 days.. You're exhausted constantly. If you're not driving, you're sleeping. Well, trying. It's very difficult learning to sleep while on a moving truck. It's not like taking a nap in the car on a ride. Our trainer was awful. He wasn't qualified to be a trainer at all. Teaching us against company policy. Offensive in MANY ways. Left us in the truck for hours while he went in to gamble. We are in the process of getting a new trainer. NOT easy! Our fleet manager barely did anything. We finally got in touch with the man over the trainers and he has helped us much more than anyone else.

Pros

If they were to give you a truck after the so called 10 day training period and pay you like they say they will. The trucks would be great if they were only two years old like the recruiter sells you. The only trucks I saw were at least 10 years old and beat up and filthy. So if you want to deal with all that for a driving job that only pays you 19 cents per mile when they say it is going to be 50 cents per mile starting out then go right ahead! Have fun with it!

Cons

Everything they tell you is a lie. I went to orientation and they refuse to pay for the time I was there. They said training would be 7 to 10 days. When I got there it turned into 6 weeks. They also said when training was over you get paid normal driving rate. That turned into the training pay rate of $450 a week when it should have been $900 a week. They also said you would get your own truck after training. When I got there that turned into 6 months over the road with a trainer...
