Pros

Managers do a good job staying cool under pressure and treating employees fairly. The store usually makes an effort to ensure that all servers get an equal opportunity to earn their tips. The company fosters a good sense of teamwork--everybody is expected to pull their weight, and most employees will go out of their way to help their co-workers.

Cons

Unless Cracker Barrel is your only job, or unless you don't have many engagements beyond your work, this is going to be a tough job (for a server). Because of the extra side work, and the terribly cumbersome process of getting "checked out" to leave the store, servers are routinely forced to stay an hour or more beyond their shift.

Pros

Salary is good for work done. Our store is very much like a family. Some negative issues, but they are quickly handled and put aside . Very much into "if not helping a guest, help someone who is." Most of the managers are quick to praise for a job well done. Very patient with new comers to the job. Fun getting to know the regular guests and establishing a rapport with them.

Cons

Certain people appear to have a little more partiality shown to them, like not doing side work , but no correcting advice from the managers. Work distribution is a little unfair. Like Hosting emplyees help in the kitchen, dining room, and retail all the time, but servers and retail don't return the favor and management supports it. S few managers have trouble getting too caught up in the rush, they take out their frustrations by yelling and singling out workers to be chastised by listening to another worker's complaint when it isn't accurate.

Pros

At the store i was at, the managers were amazing and they were very caring. The job had great benefits for people who wanted to work their way up. Career advancements were there for those who wanted them. Our store GM started out as a dishwasher for Cracker Barrel. Management was willing to work with you. kinda felt bad about leaving such great people.

Cons

As a cashier the job was not very challenging. It was also very repetitious. Get some great shoes cause your feet will start hurting after a while.
