Pros

Everyone here is like family! I look forward to coming to work everyday, as these people are not just my co-workers, they are friends. They are family oriented here. Family comes first! As an employee you're not just a number. Management takes an interest in you as a person. Curtis Lumber hosts many community events.

Cons

Working nights and weekends. It would be nice to reach a level of seniority where departments were covered by, perhaps, part time staff. so senior, full timers could have nights and weekends off.

Pros

Some time ago I injured my self on my own time. Curtis Lumber was behind me every step of my recovery. I could not walk for 3 months and the company made every consideration for me by buying me a special chair so that I could push myself around the store. I could not see my self working any other place than Curtis.

Cons

This took a lot of hard thinking...The company tends to be very reactionary with some policies..i.e not letting customers pick there own lumber from catwalk bins...Being safe is defiantly important but a small accident is just and accident and should not set policy
