Pros

- very fast paced environment, results-oriented culture that expects high productivity and competency. - Employees are able to take on many projects and gain valuable skills. - office (Tysons, VA) is directly in front of metro stop, free on-site gym, office space is recently renovated - high energy office culture, generally friendly employees

Cons

- Extreme micromanagement from senior management - Cvent was recently purchased by private equity firm and will soon be merging with a competitor company. Cvent already has very high workload demands on most employees, and this will likely only increase. Private equity firm may also look to sell Cvent again in a few years, so potential for future uncertainty. - Some senior management can be very hostile to work with. Depending on who you interface with in senior management, you may be yelled at, berated in front of coworkers, or asked to spend an inordinate amount of time on a project under high scrutiny. A constant "fire drill" culture where employees are frequently asked to drop what they are doing to put extreme focus on one-off tasks. - Department cultures and quality of life vary widely. some departments have supportive management, free team lunches, happy hours, free vacations, etc., while other departments have none of those things. One team of employees will literally go out for a $100/person dinner once a month, but teams in other departments don't have access to basic tools to do their job, let alone constant free dinners or other perks. Its odd.

Pros

Great culture, good benefits, and very fun work environment. Meteoric growth has created opportunity for everyone across the company. You will be given more responsibility beyond your role if you prove yourself capable and if you do well, you will be rewarded. If you want to work hard and get ahead, this is a great place to do it...and you can wear jeans everyday. This is a huge perk in conservative DC!

Cons

Work-life balance can be tough but Cvent doesn't try to mislead people about what the company values. If you're looking to punch the clock and collect a paycheck, you won't be happy here.
